Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of manyfirst and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

(OOC: Welcome to Week 2 of Ukimiya! Feel free to comment to the weekly top levels and thread as you like, and redeem coins at the wishing pool.

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)

No. I really haven't had anything I've needed to ask them. [How does he spin this to his advantage...] But if I do, I can relay anything I find out to you.

[ it's okay audrant has their rappigs and probably other strange meat if anything

but elliot are you really asking natalia how you peel this thing? please........ ]

Oh yes. You can get quite injured if a Coconut landed on your head. I .. I don't believe you peel it? You chop it open and then use the insides.

[ maybe that's why the inside it called coconut meat um ]

Hmm ... It's sweet and used in a lot of desserts.

[ again why ]

Well, for her, imprisonment. Abuse. Attachment. Hope. She was terrified of the creature and loved it, all in one breath, because it was the only source of affection she'd had for years.

And the cage . . . at first glance, yes, it symbolizes her own cage. But it might also serve to remind her of how she'd escaped it.

That's not much of a bargain...

[Geeze.]

If you can find out something interesting from them, I'll consider giving you your clothes back.

A violin? Are you a musician as well?

[ the curious question aside she nods her head ]

Alright. If I see the seal or what might be your staff I'll bring said items to you. Even if you cannot use your staff normally it can still be used as a physical weapon, can it not?

[ natalia please ]

[Sen wasn't lying; when he reveals the wounds, she doesn't so much as bat an eyelash. Her poker face is kept perfectly in place even as she takes in the sigh of the scarred, damaged skin.

She takes care not to aggravate it too much with the brushes, at least. It doesn't need much attention - the patch will cover most of it when he puts it back on.]

It is, thank you. [...] I must say, you are rather tough, Majima-kun.
pseudoregelia: (How come you)

[personal profile] pseudoregelia 2017-08-09 08:46 pm (UTC)(link)
That sounds like a cruel fate...

[And goodness is she sick of hearing of such things nowadays.]

Was she able to escape it for good?

She was. Permanently and irrevocably.

[And then she'd ruined it in the DLC but you know what fuck the DLC]

Not without a price. But I think it was one she was happy to pay.

...that's a disturbing possibility, but not one we can rule out. [She would like to believe that their hosts were telling the truth about purifying corruption, but she does have to admit that the spilling of blood seems more likely to feed into it than to stop it.]

If that is the case, I'm sure we will find more evidence indicating so.

[personal profile] pseudoregelia 2017-08-09 08:50 pm (UTC)(link)
There's always a price, isn't there?

[Uuuugh.]

I'm glad she was able to get out of it, at least.

It's not outside the realm of possibility, I suppose, but it would certainly pose a challenge... and perhaps more time than we have.

[You know. What with murder hanging over their heads and all.]

I have little experience with musical instruments... perhaps there is someone here who would have an easier time of it.
deontological: (27)

[personal profile] deontological 2017-08-09 08:52 pm (UTC)(link)
That would be rather unfair, wouldn't it? ...but it may very well be something we must face.

[Monsters were close enough to be used in Asch's execution, after all.]

I shouldn't even be having to bargain for my own things.

[He shoots her a withering look.]

But ugh, fine...

[Does he have to go tattle to her wife to get her to consider a little harder? Because he's definitely considering that now...]

Hope the pond didn't like, launch these at you then, or anything.

[Elliot's still wary after he narrowly dodged a suitcase last week.]

Huh! Maybe we can tell Ayumu we got these and he can put something together? [Look, he's willing to ask her what it's like, but he's not asking her to cook with it. He made a promise not to let her do that, anyway.]

Yep! [He lights right up the minute music comes up...] I'm actually a student at the Music Academy where I'm from.

[As far as the staff goes...]

You know, I don't know, Normally, by shooting balls of magic energy. I've never actually tried to hit anyone with it.

It's not really all that heavy, though. I don't think you'd really be able to use it to defend yourself [or worse] unless you put a ton of force behind it. More than I can, definitely.

[She's never actually seen a violin before, though she has seen other stringed instruments.] ...they'd play it very carefully, I imagine.

But leaving it among the food could cause someone to be killed completely unintentionally... that's hardly the sort of thing they seem to be after. By all accounts, they seem to want us to choose to act.

[Also, how are they supposed to execute someone for an accidental death...]

How does one discover that they have such an allergy?

Yeah. I play the violin, but normally they come at like... [He motions with his hands.] Normal sizes.

Carefully is an understatement, I think.

It does seem about the right size to be a keepsake or a knickknack of some kind...

[She can tell it's meant to be an instrument, but... it's so small.]
