[ So you've wished the dead back to life, but there's still 2 wishes you have to make. Ultimately what happens from here is entirely in your hands, but for the first time in eight weeks everyone is alive and whole again (even that pesky merman). There is that corruption you should deal with, but surely you know what to do about that.

Once you've settled and wound down a bit, maybe you should relax a bit before going your separate ways. You've earned it.

[Woah there, hold your horses Majima!!]

I said should, not that I'm going to. There's nothing I could do to you that'd hurt more than what you did to yourself.

[maddogs]

[ she's exactly right, of course. he'll be hurting for a long time because of what happened. ]

You're a strong fighter, Misora-san. I almost thought ya might win.

[gyakusatsu]

I didn't speak to you because I wanted to exchange platitudes, Majima.

[A beat.]

I fought as hard as I did because I had people I cared for and people I wanted to see again. People who I knew would be hurt if it was my corpse they found in the morning. We both had that to motivate us. I'm not forgiving you for what you did to me and to them. But I do want to know -- why'd you pick me?

[maddogs]

I didn't. The Sage did, 'cause ya were so damn smart.

[gyakusatsu]

[She raises an eyebrow at that. She believes Majima's telling the truth because there's just no reason for him to lie about it now, but really? The Sage thought she was a threat when he had so much power at his damn disposal? She shakes her head, muttering under her breath:]

This is what I get for accusing a brat of having the runs, huh.

[SIGH. She looks up at Majima again.]

Look, I talked to Nishitani-san about this. ["Talked" being kind of a mild term for the tone of the conversation, but shh.] He said this is a pattern with you where your loyalty gets you royally screwed over. I told him in no uncertain terms that you were a fool if you couldn't learn from your past mistakes. So I hope you've learned something this time around, Majima.

[maddogs]

[ majima just shrugs. ]

I wouldn't expect ya ta understand.

[gyakusatsu]

Blind loyalty? No, I wouldn't. But if it keeps getting the people you love killed, maybe it's not doing you any real favors either.

[maddogs]

D'ya know what's really foolish, Misora? Mouthin' off to someone who has killed ya before.

[gyakusatsu]

[That gets a shrug.]

There's a difference between mouthing off and trying to give some advice. Nishitani-san's died for you twice now, is it? Don't let there be a third.

[maddogs]

You should leave before my good will runs out.
