Beginning
One moment you were elsewhere, surely speaking to your friends, fighting in a battle of your life, dying, or even in a state of non-existence in its entirety. It doesn't matter now, since when you open your eyes it’s become clear that not only is everything around you foreign and unfamiliar, so is everyone. And there seems to be a fair lot of you, at that.
It's easy to discern a few things upon a cursory glance, once you pick yourself up from the field of grass you're resting on. The place you've awoken in seems to be fairly tranquil, for the first few moments at least, and the view of a newly budded sakura tree is among the first that will greet you. In the distance, is a towering castle that manages to look all at once both imposing and welcoming at the same time. There's also an odd pendant around your neck, which you'll find won't come off despite your best attempts. In your pocket you'll find a room key, engraved with a number.
The weather is currently cool, with the sun brightly shining in the sky, though there are a few too many clouds to make it a completely clear day. While most of them appear rather normal, every so often you might spot one that looks just a bit off— like a storm cloud that's completely lost it's way. Lucky for you, it doesn't seem like you're going to have to worry about any inclement weather anytime soon, as they'll vanish from your vision as quickly as they came.
A large stone wall surrounds the entirety of the castle, though it's anyone guess why that is— maybe it's for your safety, maybe it's to keep you trapped, or maybe it's for another reason entirely. The only breach in the wall is a single gate that looks like it certainly led to the outside at one point, but that too has been cordoned off by solid stone.
Fortunately, there's nothing to stop you from entering the castle itself, where you'll find it's pretty grand all things considered. The lighting inside is provided not by electricity, but by magical flame that adjusts to the time of day or night. Actually, if you're looking for anything electronic anywhere, or even a simple power outlet, you'll be sorely out of luck.
For now, it might be best to explore and make some sense of where you are and why you're here— maybe one of your fellow travelers might know something? There are some plaques in the Great Hall that might catch your interest given their focus, in addition to one ridiculously large golden one that seems to bear rules.
Welcome, fellow warriors, to your very long stay.

Watching a good fight would come in as a close second.
[So, y'know, if he wants an audience... She may not be on board with murder just yet, but watching the others take up arms is something she isn't opposed to. Better to see what they're all up against.]
I wouldn't be opposed to learning to fight, though I fear it would take some time before I could hope to pose a challenge to you at all.

I ain't opposed ta teachin' ya a thing or two if yer up to it! Course I don't expect ya ta ever stand a chance against me, but that's more 'cause I'm real fuckin' strong, 's not yer fault, doll.

[Sen bows to him - partially to show her appreciation, because it is kind of him to be willing to teach her, but partially to hide the way her lip curls a little at being called doll. This is neither the time nor the place to make enemies.
When she straightens up, she's all smiles again.]
Please take care of me... oh, I'm very sorry! I haven't even asked for your name or offered you mine, and here I am asking you for favors. I am called Sen, and you are...?
[Of course, she could find it out by looking at the plaques - she already has, in fact - but not giving him the chance to introduce himself seems rude.]

[ Sorry, he's about as respectful as a crime boss can be... I mean, he has some decorum. Just not when it comes to addressing people... Plus I mean his Osakan accent is so thick, is there any doubt what kind of guy he is? ]
Name's Homare Nishitani. [ Yes, he bows too. ] Ya can ask me fer favors whenever ya want, Sen-chan. I'd help ya either way just 'cause yer so damn cute.
[ stop ]

[There's little doubt in her mind as to what kind of man he is. Even with his nicknames, though, he's at least... less annoying than some people she's interacted with before coming here, so she can stay civil. It's fine.]
My, my, you're a flatterer! [She will. Definitely use that to her advantage, if he's as good as his word.] But I do appreciate your kindness.

[ He's ve-ry predictable once you know his priorities, tbh. He just wants to have fun. He nods, waving off her formality. He's got no reason to be formal with her (but then he doesn't realize she's a princess...) ]
Dunno why the fuck we're all here or what, but I figure teachin' ya ta fight oughta be more fun than just standin' around.
no subject
[That's... one way of putting it, anyway.]
I believe I saw an area that looked like a training ground outside. We may be able to use that for combat practice. Shall we go look and see if it suits our needs?
no subject
[ Of course, you could explore... but exploring seems boring too, y'know? ]
Sounds good ta me! Lead the way, Sen-chan.
[ Yeah, he hasn't explored much at all. A training ground sounds like his new favorite place. ]

Out of the castle, through the courtyard... Sen glances at their surroundings as they walk, but there will be time to explore the rest of it in detail. For now, they cross the bridge over to the outer courtyard and turn toward the roped-off dirt area near the walls.
She points it out as they approach.]
It doesn't look like much, but it seems as though it's meant to be used.

He follows her to the training grounds, nodding at the meager setup. It's no underground cage-match arena, but it'll do. ]
Yeah, this oughta do great! I can see myself gettin' real comfortable here.
no subject
It's no dojo, but it should do just fine, from the look of things.
no subject
Eh, I never bothered with a fuckin' dojo myself. Self-taught on the streets works just as good as some stuffy shit ya learn in a trainin' hall.
no subject
In some cases it could work better, could it not? Street fighting certainly seems as though it has the potential to be rather adaptable.
no subject
Damn right! Learnin' in a dojo ain't gonna help ya fer shit if ya end up fightin' people who don't play by yer same rules. Ya gotta treat each fight like yer last if ya wanna survive on the street.
no subject
[Sen smiles, and starts to push up the sleeves of her kimono.]
Very well, then! Please teach me every dirty trick you can think of, Nishitani-san.
no subject
That's the spirit, Sen-chan! Yer learnin' from the best when it comes ta dirty tricks, trust me.
[ not... something to be proud of... ]
no subject
Is that so? Then I'm grateful to have become acquainted with a master.
[It's perhaps not the greatest skill to have, but you know what? Here, it should serve them both just fine.]
no subject
Comes in handy in the yakuza, what can I say?
[ Sure, they have honor and all that, but they still stab each other in the back every other week. ]
no subject
Yes, I imagine so. It certainly must keep you on your toes...
