Beginning
One moment you were elsewhere, surely speaking to your friends, fighting in a battle of your life, dying, or even in a state of non-existence in its entirety. It doesn't matter now, since when you open your eyes it’s become clear that not only is everything around you foreign and unfamiliar, so is everyone. And there seems to be a fair lot of you, at that.
It's easy to discern a few things upon a cursory glance, once you pick yourself up from the field of grass you're resting on. The place you've awoken in seems to be fairly tranquil, for the first few moments at least, and the view of a newly budded sakura tree is among the first that will greet you. In the distance, is a towering castle that manages to look all at once both imposing and welcoming at the same time. There's also an odd pendant around your neck, which you'll find won't come off despite your best attempts. In your pocket you'll find a room key, engraved with a number.
The weather is currently cool, with the sun brightly shining in the sky, though there are a few too many clouds to make it a completely clear day. While most of them appear rather normal, every so often you might spot one that looks just a bit off— like a storm cloud that's completely lost it's way. Lucky for you, it doesn't seem like you're going to have to worry about any inclement weather anytime soon, as they'll vanish from your vision as quickly as they came.
A large stone wall surrounds the entirety of the castle, though it's anyone guess why that is— maybe it's for your safety, maybe it's to keep you trapped, or maybe it's for another reason entirely. The only breach in the wall is a single gate that looks like it certainly led to the outside at one point, but that too has been cordoned off by solid stone.
Fortunately, there's nothing to stop you from entering the castle itself, where you'll find it's pretty grand all things considered. The lighting inside is provided not by electricity, but by magical flame that adjusts to the time of day or night. Actually, if you're looking for anything electronic anywhere, or even a simple power outlet, you'll be sorely out of luck.
For now, it might be best to explore and make some sense of where you are and why you're here— maybe one of your fellow travelers might know something? There are some plaques in the Great Hall that might catch your interest given their focus, in addition to one ridiculously large golden one that seems to bear rules.
Welcome, fellow warriors, to your very long stay.

[In.... any capacity. At all. Hm. Either it was small, or.....]
I'm from the country of Japan. Have you heard of it?
no subject
[He's starting to connect the dots, too, but... no, that's insane, isn't it? Then again, so is waking up in a field surrounded by mostly strangers with a pendant he can't take off...]
no subject
[He reaches up with one hand to run a hand through his hair with a sigh.]
no subject
[He sighs, deflating a bit and glancing up at Ayumu.]
I could say the same for Erebonia, so... wherever we are, it's pulling people in from different worlds?
This whole thing is nuts...

[Which was.... messy, to put it mildly. If it had been a simple kidnapping to some other country, he might be able to count on a rescue. This, however....]
We're not going to get a rescue anytime soon, if that's the case.

You're probably right about that. [He wishes he could keep from wearing his emotions on his sleeve, but there's not much else to be done right now.] ...Guess that makes laundry the least of our worries, huh?

[Ayumu was a more subdued type who kept his true feelings close to his chest, but he still offers Elliot a small smile.]
At least you're not stuck here alone, right?
no subject
[Elliot offers the best smile he can muster in return.]
Name's Elliot Craig. It's nice to meet you.
no subject
[He offers out a hand to shake, offering a wry look.]
It's nice to meet you, too, though it would have been nicer under different circumstances.
no subject
[Elliot takes his hand and shakes it.]
No kidding, but looks like we gotta take what we can get.
How much of this place have you seen so far? I've just been poking around, myself.
[And running into people, but, you know. Ayumu doesn't need to know that.]
no subject
I'm working my way in from the courtyard, I suppose. Have you seen anything beyond here?
mild CSII spoilers for anyone who cares
...Which, um. I guess this is, technically, but it's not really the kind of useful I was looking for.
[He can't help but feel a little useless, though. Rean would have handled this so much better... but, well. Rean isn't here, and there's little point in beating up on himself too much. He swore he'd put to use all he learned when he left Thors, and while he's sure made plenty of stupid mistakes, there's no time like the present to start doing better.]

[Because if they were going to be stuck here, they could only hope there would be supplies of some sort to sustain them. Food, clothes, water--]
But I think the fact that there's a laundry room must mean there are clothes around somewhere, too.
[Honestly, Ayumu was feeling the tiniest bit of frustration himself-- he shouldn't be here. He had too much to do, back home, and....
His absence would be noticed, no doubt about it. That couldn't be allowed, for a very good reason.]
no subject
[He pulls his room key out of his pocket, turning it over in his hand.]
I mean, it's just a hunch, but this looks like some kind of hotel key to me. Do you have one, too? I'm just thinking, if it is like a hotel, that kind of place seems like a place to keep clothing.
no subject
[Ayumu pulls out his own, considering for a moment. Most hotels in his day and age used card keys.]
It's possible.... which means, they plan to keep us for awhile.
[He glances up at the building behind them with a frown.] But the look of this place... it's more like a castle, isn't it?
no subject
[He looks back toward it, too, biting briefly at his bottom lip.]
For a while, though, huh... I get the feeling you're right about that. I just don't like the sound of it at all.
no subject
[And he recognized some of the architectural style, honestly. It wasn't exactly, but.... it was definitely eastern style.]
We'll just have to take things one step at a time-- and use caution and awareness.
no subject
...Right. Guess that's all there is to do.
