Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

[And with Hei dead on Friday, maybe the alcohol won't be all gone by next week!

He takes a glass and pours rum in it for himself. He figures Zero is a big girl and can pour her own glass.]

Well, bottoms up.

[And he takes a drink.

Ah, it feels like it's been too long since he's drank anything with anyone. He misses his (B)Rokurou.]

[She nods at that, thinking she needs to get down there and swipe some for herself soon...

But Eizen's right in that, and she pours herself a drink easily, taking a sip soon after. It's been too long since she's had a drink in general, so she's feeling surprisingly pleased.]

Glad we have this to pass the time now at least.

Aye. I'm not sure how much longer I would have lasted without booze.

[He's used to being out on a ship and exploring... not this bullshit.]

At least this may help from people going stir crazy.

[She lived her whole life drifting from one place to the next, whether because she was just looking for food or because the hunt for her sisters always had her on the move. Being sedentary like this is.... weird and uncomfortable, to say the least.]

Here's hoping. If the boredom doesn't get to people, the paranoia of wondering who's gonna die and who's gonna kill next might.

[He takes a good sip of his drink.]

I'm aware that I'll die any moment, but it's not because I'm here. Maybe that's why I don't have a fear of dying, even though I should. Though I believe I've discussed this with you already. [He smiles a bit.] I'm honestly more upset I can't go out and live my life to the fullest right now not knowing which day will be my last.

[blacksong]

I'll drink to that. [And she does so.] Dying and killing don't scare me, but I've got a dozen things I need to be doing. Being stuck here and not being able to do any of that's just fucking annoying.

[Since she HAS already died, and honestly she'd prefer to be. Just not without getting rid of her sisters first.]

[Raising his glass and drinking to the sentiment they just shared.]

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if either of us killed because we got so tired of being stuck here. At least, I wouldn't blame either of us.

[Decided 'Bye Felicia' and just killed someone and ollied out.]

I guess when either of us end up as suspects, [because that's absolutely inevitable with the two of them] let's let the others sweat for a minute or two over the evidence before we call each other out on our motive.

[It sounds like a joke.

[Eizen laughs at that. Not because it's a joke but because he can totally roll with this as he gives her a wide smile.]

I think that sounds like a great plan.

[He likes this so much. It really helps his boredom out.]

[She snorts, inelegant and loud. This is honestly the funniest thing she's heard in a while.]

Alright, what other contingency plans do we wanna make for when we're suspects? [NOT SHADY AT ALL.]

[ Break kickdancing is his favorite, second only to just straight up knife dancing. Nishitani chuckles even as he pushes himself up off the ground to try and dodge those jabs. (Since he doesn't have heat though... it's probably not going to go all that well.) ]

Weird that your world thinks of magic as backwards and mine thinks of it as progressive. Maybe that's because we tried to learn how to understand the magic energy enough to harness it as a power source.

Yeah, I've been. [ mostly alone, because thinking and thoughts and dumb worries about this deep shit they're suddenly in. somehow it's just easier to deal with missing his sister and friends while soaking. maybe it's too japanese of him. repress everything until you can wash it off in the baths.

and if he cries, no one can tell. not that he has, at all. but that's the idea, right?

(a sudden thought pops into his head: kurosaki's probably cried about being here. it's a startling thought. a couple of days ago, he hadn't really care to wonder what the other boy was doing in his private moments. now that they're friends, he should care more about that, shouldn't he? hm.) ]

We can go together sometime if you want. I'll add it to my busy schedule of doing jack shit. [ maybe it'll be nice to go with someone he can talk to. though he wonders if that's too intimate for kurosaki. it wouldn't be their first time bathing together, but there's a big difference between doing it with a group of friends and doing it with just your crush. ] Mostly, talking to people. Sage-chan, too. Not really exploring much, so yeah jack shit.

Yeah, my best friend's like that. Sure, he helps others, but he ends up being the one hurt the most. [ very seriously: ] I hope Narumi-san knows he can count on you.

I think it helps for them to know there's always gonna be someone worrying about them.

[ !!! Wait, no, calm down. He shakes his head to clear his thoughts. As nonchalantly as he can manage (which isn't a lot), he looks away and mumbles: ] I'll go with you.

[ There's some insecurity in there but, well, he's choosing not to think about it. That's how he's tackling a large number of his issues this week, "not going to think about it." So far it's kept him optimistic but who knows what the future holds.

Moving along... Before he speaks again, he lets go of Miyamura's hand and looks away. ] Oh. Yeah, I've been doing the same. I spoke with the Sage last week. Monday, I think.

It wasn't very productive.
