Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

I'll drink to that. [And she does so.] Dying and killing don't scare me, but I've got a dozen things I need to be doing. Being stuck here and not being able to do any of that's just fucking annoying.

[Since she HAS already died, and honestly she'd prefer to be. Just not without getting rid of her sisters first.]

[Raising his glass and drinking to the sentiment they just shared.]

Honestly, I wouldn't be surprised if either of us killed because we got so tired of being stuck here. At least, I wouldn't blame either of us.

[Decided 'Bye Felicia' and just killed someone and ollied out.]

I guess when either of us end up as suspects, [because that's absolutely inevitable with the two of them] let's let the others sweat for a minute or two over the evidence before we call each other out on our motive.

[It sounds like a joke.





But honestly is it really.]

[Eizen laughs at that. Not because it's a joke but because he can totally roll with this as he gives her a wide smile.]

I think that sounds like a great plan.

[He likes this so much. It really helps his boredom out.]

[She snorts, inelegant and loud. This is honestly the funniest thing she's heard in a while.]

Alright, what other contingency plans do we wanna make for when we're suspects? [NOT SHADY AT ALL.]

I say we make them wait and sweat over it. Maybe to add a little amusement when they think they've got someone that's not us to call the other out. The evidence would probably win at the end of the day but this group is so much about bonds they refuse to listen to reason. [Fast forward to the trial and holy cow this is still true.]

They don't know what to do when someone they care for is accused; even worse, a murderer.

Oh, but didn't you know? If you like someone, that means it's impossible for them to do bad shit like lie or kill. [Lord did the trial prove that twice over.]

[He laughs. Right... Good Lord these people need a wake up call.]

If only. I find it funny people think it works that way.

[He wants to know what naive world those people lived in.]

Right? Makes me wonder what kind of sunshine-rainbow world these morons come from.

[The buddy system? Trying to watch out for each other? Not only is it a waste of time to her, it's flagrant bullshit.]

I don't mind the buddy system so much if only because it means it makes it easier to keep tabs on my sister.

[Otherwise, he could care less about it himself.]

[Saying this as if liking your sibling is as foreign and alien a concept as possible.

I do. She's always been someone special to me.

[Siblings are actually foreign to him, too, since technically malakhim don't have siblings? But it's a nice feeling to have this bond so he cherishes it.]

Is that how siblings are supposed to be?

[It almost sounds like she could be mocking him for something so obvious, but from her, it's an honest question. She really has no idea what normal siblings are supposed to be like.

Not that she plans on becoming one anytime soon, but she's curious.]

I don't know. My kind don't have biological families like humans do. All I know is that I share a special connection with Edna that can only be described as siblings.

[So he understands her questioning. It doesn't quite make sense to him either, but it doesn't try to work it out. He just accepts that malakhim are able to have special bonds with one another. Some romantic and some platonic.]

A "special connection."

[It sounds so weird to her. She honestly can't fathom it, having never seen it in her life.

Or if she ever did, she killed all the people involved before she could really see anything out of it. Having a vengeful daughter try to avenge her mother after she killed her for food wasn't exactly high on her list of things to do.]

Would you do anything for her? [That's usually how people talked about their family, right? That or dying for them.]

I would do anything for her.

[His expression falls just a bit as he says this, pouring some more rum into his glass.]

What I want more than anything is to live with her like I used to, but I can't. I'm cursed, like I've said numerous times, so being around her could potentially kill her and I can't let that happen. I've looked for ways to break my curse, but... I've given up finding a way to do so.

[Even though he technically did find a potential way, but... it would have been at the cost of scarring another life.]

[She takes a long drink after that, mulling it over. He actually sounds really sincere about it. If she could, she'd almost want to believe it.

But she doesn't. There's no such thing as a person incapable of betrayal, no matter how much they might claim to care about another person. Everyone has their price.]

It'd be nice if that was true. [She takes another sip. That's all she'll say on that.] Your curse honestly kinda sounds like bullshit though. Bad luck's just luck.

[Zero you have no room to talk about how bullshit curses are when you have an evil flower in your eye.]

It's more than just bad luck that's my curse. I've killed people and caused all sorts of misfortune to happen.

[Once is an accident. Twice is a coincidence. Three times is a pattern....]

Then you killed them on accident? [How does this even work..........]

That's exactly what I'm saying.

[Don't ask how, he already explained it...]

Yikes.

[There are plenty of dumb ways to die, but she never thought there could really be a dumb way to kill until now. Even if you don't have a reason to kill, at least most people consciously choose it if they do.]

What do you think the chances are of you killing someone accidentally here? [There'd just be something really hilarious if he didn't even kill out of boredom or to get out of here but because........ of an accident.]

It's pretty likely. I'm amazed I haven't killed anyone here yet.

If it's an accident, then do us a favor and fess up right away, would you? Spending all fucking day inside with everyone here sucks.

[Not like she does anything to help speed up the process........]

But honestly? Same here. [This is probably the longest she's ever gone without killing someone since she was a kid.]
