Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

You get used to it. If you live with someone else for long enough, it starts to become weird to go home into an own room, actually.

Whenever I'm in my apartment, I don't even know what to do with myself these days.

[Damn it, she was hoping this would lead somewhere relatively lighthearted. In retrospect, she's not sure why she thought this would be the case.]

You were a very small crew then to only have one pilot and two flight attendants.

So you think wearing the warrior's uniforms we've been given is what we should do?

[ It's an honest question from her part, she's been thinking about that herself. ]

Oh, there were others, but the first class and the second class are separated very strictly. We don't really meet with the second class crew at other times than landing and take-off.

[ But her mind still seems to be elsewhere, with the last question and after a pause, she skips right back to that. Definitely not making eye contact though. ]

Naomi... have you ever liked someone you only met very shortly?

I suppose we're also allowed to contact him with our necklaces, but truth be told, I haven't yet dared to try.

It doesn't seem like they're inclined to give us information and I'd rather not make him angry somehow.

[Despite herself, she smiles. It's a cheering thought, spiteful and petty, and she's fond of it.]

As you'd like. Though if you're to throw something at him, I'd suggest something more likely to leave a mark.

[That is a very abrupt change in subject and her surprise is transparent briefly before she recovers quickly.]

O-oh.... no, that's never happened to me, but that seems to be a pretty common experience for other people as far as I'm aware.

[A beat.]

[Hiyono is faithful and resolute and absolutely petty and spiteful when the time calls for it.]

I don't have anything that's very heavy, though... I'll just have to hope the wishing pool gives me something good.

I say we make them wait and sweat over it. Maybe to add a little amusement when they think they've got someone that's not us to call the other out. The evidence would probably win at the end of the day but this group is so much about bonds they refuse to listen to reason. [Fast forward to the trial and holy cow this is still true.]

They don't know what to do when someone they care for is accused; even worse, a murderer.

[ Her firm tone is probably hard to take seriously with that stutter at the front and her body sunken so deeply into the water as if intending to vanish fully.... ]

[ She repeats it a little hesitantly, being more used to repeating slogans than cheers, but hey! It's nice. ]

We have your and Machias' experience with crisis situations and Ms Misora's crime solving experience combined in our room, so it's not a bad team set-up at all.

[ See, that definitely hurts. Nishitani probably shouldn't be too surprised to find the Teishu is much faster than him, but his hubris comes with a price and that price is gonna be some nasty bruises tomorrow.

However, this being Nishitani... well, getting bruised is definitely what he's into. I'm sorry. He laughs even as he grips his chest in pain. ]

[ Oh, sure, his breath is coming short and he seems almost entirely out of breath, but have you ever seen a man look so damn happy about that fact? ]

[On some level, this is beginning to feel surreal. They're stuck in a castle where people are expected to murder each other and here they are having "girl talk" about crushes and.... ugh. Misora supposes this is theoretically a good thing to be able to decompress like this, but she'd be lying if she said it was legitimately soothing.

But on the other hand, Rhoda's reaction is at least a little funny.]

Let me guess. He wowed you with his professionalism?

[ Rhoda doesn't even hear the irony in this statement, all she can do is nod. ]

He was the prosecutor who solved that case...

[ And with that, her mouth and nose also sink underwater as she holds her breath and just hides away there for a bit. ]

...I see. I guess that's a pretty common story no matter what part of the world you're in.

[Which isn't surprising exactly, though it's not particularly uplifting either. If anything, it makes Misora wonder where someone like her would've ended up if it weren't for having supportive parents.

Street dancing, maybe. She was pretty good at that back in the day before she moved onto other endeavors. She brushes the thought aside.]

but if you don't mind my saying so, Majima-san... if it was structure you were after initially, how can you accept so easily that structure may not exist here?

That's also why he just gives her a slightly incredulous look at the question. Sure, he wasn't happy about what happened, but a grudge would be overstating it.]

It's been less than two weeks. Why the hell would I have a grudge?

His incredulity s a little relieving though. If it's not an extreme scenario then it's probably not going to cause bigger group tensions down the line. She raises an eyebrow.]
