Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

[Jin can have all the points!! Especially since those priorities kinda make Misora smile - not because she agrees with them, but because they're fairly innocent. There are others who are using their time to cook up more malicious things in the end.]

When you say "profiles" though... you mean like the ones on the plaques?

[There are plenty of dumb ways to die, but she never thought there could really be a dumb way to kill until now. Even if you don't have a reason to kill, at least most people consciously choose it if they do.]

What do you think the chances are of you killing someone accidentally here? [There'd just be something really hilarious if he didn't even kill out of boredom or to get out of here but because........ of an accident.]

he's not gonna overanalyze kurosaki's answer; instead, he takes the other boy's word as is. mostly because it's late, but he thinks he's done enough deep thinking for the week. if he says he won't do that again, then good. subject closed. ]

Ha. Yeah, I noticed he's not that great at deflecting. Usually just gets flustered and shuts down. [ and miyamura has tried to fluster the sage many a times, so he'd know. should've been listed on his profile, but ah well. ] I could try to ask him, but I'm not really that eager to risk everything for a promise he might not deliver. Can't really pinky promise and believe that'll work. Think I should ask anyway?

[ he can't see how it'll help them in the long run, but it could provide them with clues maybe. ]

He can't put it as elegantly as the other boy did but—Miyamura means too much to him to test something like that. To emphasize the unspoken part of his reply, he slinks his hand along the bed and reaches for Miyamura; once their fingers meet he links them together and shuffles closer.

Not too close, but closer all the same. Appeased by this, he smiles gently. ] Back to my question!

[ his voice is deceptively nonchalant. ]

I asked him why two kids got sent here to die. [ he gives kurosaki a grim smile. ] And some other shit.

... Furude and Tiki? [ If he's judging solely by appearances, that makes sense. Personality too, come to think of it. Maybe not Furude's, but Tiki genuinely seemed to act like a child. The smile falls from his face far too easily. ]

You didn't have to ask him that. It's... obvious. [ He gives Miyamura's hand a tight squeeze. ] They were brought here so they could die.

But why? [ it's shitty, but that's not the part he has issues with at the moment. ] It just doesn't make any sense. If I were some mythical being that needed nine mighty warriors, I'd summon the best people from wherever the hell, you know? This test isn't going to work.

[ not to mention: giving purification powers to nine people who get away with murder, lies, and betrayal. uh hello? 119 calling to report some missing common sense. ]

But anyway, that wasn't all. Found out Sage-chan didn't have a choice either. This place was "picked for him" like it was picked for us.

[ He thinks that over and—yeah, he agrees. There are flaws everywhere, some might even be coming from their own perceptions of the situation. He has a thought on the test working or not. Too bad he's withholding it so he can focus on the last thing Miyamura said. ]

He said that? [ Kurosaki puts his free hand to his chin thoughtfully. ] If he was being honest, doesn't that mean he wasn't always here?

Yeah, he said he had a family before. Not sure if they're dead or what, but he said he can't have any familial bonds or otherwise because of his role here.

News to me. When we spoke, I didn't ask him about his bonds or family. [ Makes sense why he wouldn't know if he didn't ask though. There's a pause before he drops his hand from his chin into his hoodie. Apparently, he's been keeping a notepad in there because... why not?

He drops it onto the bed and flips through it until finding a page on The Sage. While he's flipping, it's obvious some of the pages have been ripped out, a good many have been filled, and others have been taped on top of each other. ]

This is all I learned and thought about him. After a while, it was hard to find time to myself to talk to him, so... Sorry, there's not more. [ Sleepovers and all. ]

[ Kurosaki was going to say he's not the best at it, more like he's used to making some animals. It's a useful skill when you're trying to make decorations for clubs.

Also, he has a lot of free time on his hands in the Student Council. ]

Kind of. [ His own beat! ] More like notes on everyone...? Just things I noticed, or things they told me that weren't on their profiles.
