Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of manyfirst and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)

I'm more into bourbon! But not enough to kill someone, hahah!

[Kizakura examines the lock, evaluating if he could force it open]

That'd be worrying if it wasn't for the motives. Compared to them, a bottle of rum is way less powerful.

[But he can't deny someone under the infuence would consider to kill, under enough pressure]

In Vino Vertias - hidden intentions may become impulsive actions.

[He examines the barrels, not for alcohol, casually tugging at the spigots, before catching himself and shaking his head]

How absurd, why did I think any of these would be a hidden passage?

It wasn't a bad idea. It's said castles can have hidden passages hidden anywhere. I myself looked everywhere for them the day we arrived here.

In theory it's not a bad idea to have one... but given it looks like we're somehow above the clouds...

[He pauses for a moment at that thought - his expression darkens, before pushing on]

There's no way there is one out of here, unless the castle hasn't always been sky-bound, and it'd be of little use....

Oi, a drink would really be good about now, and our hosts prove to be less than generous.

It doesn't have to be a hidden passage, even a hidden compartment may be enough. You know, hiding important items. Leaving aside the why they'd do that, of course.

[Because it's unlikely the Sage'd play scavenger hunt around the castle]

Who knows, the magical pond outside could give us a bottle, if we're lucky. I know that's what I'm hoping for.

We know little of them, except what they chose to tell us - so we just have to guess.

[His lips quirked into a smile at the thought]

or perhaps the key.

What'be the odds? We'd be more likely to find a magical button that'd take all of us out of here immediately.

[Kizakura leans against one of the many empty barrels]

Has anyone even obtained something useful out of that pond? I haven't given it a try yet, but since I have a few of those coins...may as well try, see what junk it wants to give me.
devilsphysician: (feh... what fools)

[personal profile] devilsphysician 2017-08-07 09:43 pm (UTC)(link)
I found a swirly purple cube... far as I'm aware it doesn't do anything - and gold coins, that the pond won't accept.

[He ran his fingers over the other casks]

Gold coins? If you don't need them you can give them to me. There are a few things that can be done with coins when you're in a pinch.

[The cube sounds useless, but coins...they can be useful]

[He laughs at that]

Well, I had considered holding onto them if I get back home - gold is gold, unless you have some kind of plan with said coins.

More like a few practical uses. As dead weight, as a way to measure stuff...I have even heard a trick or two before, like using them to save bad wine, keep garden slugs away, and keep flowers fresh.

[Being surrounded by talented people does help learn some trivia, apparently]

But if you want to sell them when you're back home instead of giving them away, then go ahead. You said it, gold is gold. It's not like I'm in dire need for gold here, you keep it.

Those would be useful - and given this game, we might be here a while - so I am willing to offer them if the need does arise... 'You can't take it with you' generally refers to death, but it's a useful reminder not to hoard needlessly.
