Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of manyfirst and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)
originallutece: can you not hemorrhage for like ten minutes (neutral; ugh more blood)

Well. There's ease of disposal of bodies, for starters.

[That's a possibility. Anyone who lives or passes underneath where the castle's floating will have one nasty surprise every week]

I guess a medieval castle doesn't leave many options in terms of preserving bodies. Still...if the body's disposed, then what happens to the worlds they came from? Those who are alive before coming here, I mean. They just go missing without a trace, as far as anyone is concerned?

[There's something disturbing about someone disappearing just like that]
originallutece: awful tough lately (talk; you've been acting)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-08-08 03:05 am (UTC)(link)
Yes.

[God, but she speaks authoritatively.]

They'll simply disappear, and people will wonder for a while, and then they'll make peace with that fact, or not.

Then if the person who dies here was destined to save someone's life, or their disappearance dooms a village or even the entire world... [Kizakura shakes his head] Wow. To save one world, a few others may have been doomed. That's a depressing thought.
originallutece: staff meetings are the fucking worst (anger; SIGHHHHHHH)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-08-08 10:26 pm (UTC)(link)
This entire exercise is a depressing thought if you think about it too much. I still don't believe their story about corruption, which means they've likely stolen us away for the sole purpose of watching us scheme, manipulate and die.

So you think all they want is a bunch of strangers to kill each other, just so they can be entertained?

[What are they, Roman emperors?]
originallutece: do you think he'll pick the wrong fucking lottery number i bet he will (talk; well here we are again at the fair)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-08-09 04:22 am (UTC)(link)
I've seen people act far more cruelly for far less.

Honestly I find that a bit too hard to believe. If they wanted us to kill each other and nothing else, they'd make it happen faster. Look at us all, we have been here for little more than a week and just three people have died.

Two months or so would be needed if two people keep dying every week. That's just too long for sadistic nonsense.

[Or at least he imagines they'd want to see people die more often, but besides the motives it doesn't seem like they're encouraging it too much]
originallutece: a flying cityyyy? (talk; do you want to build)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-08-10 08:42 pm (UTC)(link)
You don't think they'd want to stretch out a bit of entertainment? There's pleasure to be had in the psychological and interpersonal drama of it all. Especially if they're tracking all we say with these crystals.

What a waste of time doing all this is, if there's no further reason than sadistic enjoyment. [He lifts his malachite pendant, talking into it] You hear that, Sage-san? Don't have disappointing motives, alright? [He lets go the pendant] I still think we're not a good group of "warriors". Their standards must be...rather strange, frankly.
