Week 2
Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:
The Challenge.
Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.
As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.
But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

[Not that his memories of his time with Class VII are ever far from his heart, but seeing his ARCUS again brings them all flooding back more vividly than ever. He holds it to his chest, smiling a bit.]
That's why I keep going to the pond, though. I just keep hoping for something useful, or at least my violin or something... but I'll take this.
Is there anything you're hoping to get out of there?
no subject
[ unfortunately she can't say the same. hopefully it doesn't stay that way? ]
Mmm. A bow and arrows would be kind of it. Or ... perhaps something of his.
[ if possible. she's not sure what could be in there but ... ]
no subject
[He smiles at her. He's got your back, Natalia, even if the pond doesn't.]
no subject
Thank you. I'd like to extend the offer if possible. Is there anything else that you hope to get?
no subject
And in general, just... anything with this seal on it. [He shows her the front of the ARCUS again, with the horned lion.] It's probably mine or Machias', if it's got that.
[A pause.]
And... I don't know how it'd have it, but if you see a staff with a green top, that might be mine, too. Don't think it'll work here either, though, if even the ARCUS doesn't.

[ the curious question aside she nods her head ]
Alright. If I see the seal or what might be your staff I'll bring said items to you. Even if you cannot use your staff normally it can still be used as a physical weapon, can it not?
[ natalia please ]
no subject
[As far as the staff goes...]
You know, I don't know, Normally, by shooting balls of magic energy. I've never actually tried to hit anyone with it.
It's not really all that heavy, though. I don't think you'd really be able to use it to defend yourself [or worse] unless you put a ton of force behind it. More than I can, definitely.

[ she would love to hear elliot play some music ]
Perhaps not, but it is still a weapon that can be of some use at close range. Even if you are simply use it for defense rather than offense. Unfortunately though, that's all I can suggest. I'm quite skill with archery but I have no knowledge of any other weapons.
like half of my previous tag got eaten and rearranged wtf
[And he would love to play! His fingers are still itching for keys or strings...]
It could at least prove useful for blocking, I guess. [He sighs.] I'm no good with anything other than the orbal staff, myself. We had combat training at Thors, but none of it ever really took.
omg dw what are you doing don't do that
[ she can't play but hearing it would be soothing ]
What kind of combat training did you attempt?
no subject
[He'll hold out hope...]
They did a bunch of testing on us before we came in on our first day, and I guess I just resonated best with the orbal staff. They had me training with that for the rest of the year.
no subject
[ she'll hold out hope with you ]
I see. So I take it that Thors is a military academy of some sort?

CS2 spoilers! although i'm skipping a ton of detail
Basically, I never really wanted to go to Thors, but my dad kinda forced my hand. It's a 2 year school, but after about half a year, I managed to convince him that I was ready to make my own choices. Thors helped me and a bunch of my classmates out and had us graduate after one year instead, and now I'm at the Music Academy in Heimdallr.

[ she's never been to any academies because princess so she's curious about all this ]

Don't be jealous! I'm sure you've done plenty of really cool stuff, too. [And with that, he actually looks pretty interested! Tell him of your adventures, Natty.]

[ also the whole journey of trying to get someone to not replace the world with replicas but that's more the group's efforts not hers ]

[Elliot has somewhat limited experience with princesses, but all of the experience he has leads him to believe that princesses are pretty awesome. He has no doubt Natalia is the same way.]

[ time to get sad ]

Still, he can't help but be interested. His voice is a little softer, though, as he asks.]
What promise was that? ...If you don't mind my asking, anyway.
no subject
"Some day, when we’re grown up, let’s change this country. Change it so that no one has to be poor. Change it so that war never happens. Let's change this world. For the rest of our lives. Together."
[ her voice nearly cracks at the end of it but yep. there is it. ]

That's... a really beautiful promise. And honestly... that's a cause I can believe in, too.
