Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

Indeed. I have no use for coconuts.

[ she can't even cook what did they expect her to do with these ]

I'm unsure of the count. [ she didn't bother to count the bunch ] But I do believe this will be enough for us all.

[Carrying coconuts is easy, it shouldn't take long for Kizakura to help. Once all the coconuts are in the kitchen, he takes one, shaking it to listen inside]

Ah, perfect. Someone in here must know what to do with these. But for that first we need to break these open. [He turns to Natalia] Got a plan for that?

[ natalia is grateful for the help. carrying coconuts by herself was an arduous task. ]

I'm certain one of the fine cooks we have here would know! But ... ah. I do not know how to open a Coconut.

[ this is someone who thinks you shave carrots with a razor ok ]

I don't think it'll be too difficult. Just hit it hard with something and see what happens. Oh, but don't punch it.

[ natalia seems offended by the last bit. excuse you she would absolutely not punch a coconut! ]

We are in a kitchen. I'm certain we can find something to hit it with. Perhaps a knife or-- ... a hammer?

[ she was going to say hatchet but hm.. ]

Now that you mention a hammer, I think there are medieval tools somewhere in the castle. Wait here, I'll go get some.

[And lo and behold, he does bring one of those ugly medieval toolkits there were in the dungeon. He takes out a hammer]

This'll work. Want to hit the coconut? I'd do it while you hold that thing, but I take no responsibility for your fingers. Not that I have bad aim, it's just a warning

[ natalia nods her head and waits for him to come back with the hammer. that ought to work right? but hmm.. ]

I'm afraid I can say the same thing. Are you certain that I should be the one to hit it? You might be able to hit it harder than I.

Alright, I will. Hold it as strong as you can. [Kizakura taps the top of the coconut a couple times before bringing down the hammer. There's a loud noise, but...the coconut doesn't break. That's one tough thing]

...okay, that's not working. I thought that'd be enough...

[ natalia gives a nod and told it as tightly as she can. yay for not whacking her fingers but the coconut didn't even crack at all. ]

How odd. Is there something else we could try?

[ like a machete oh wait there isn't one around anymore ]

[Kizakura takes the coconut, weighing it in his hands]

I dunno...or maybe...

[Without saying another word, Kizakura took the coconut, opened the oven, threw the coconut inside and turned on the heat.

...yeah]

[ oh ... oh my. and yet it doesn't really occur to natalia that doing that is odd because she can't cook worth a damn ]

I see! Perhaps the heat will soften it or perhaps cause to break open?

[ natalia.... ]

That's the idea! I heard coconuts can break because of the heat, so it's worth a try.

[He smiles]

It'll be a fun experiment. You don't do things like these back at home? Just trying outlandish experiments just to see what happens?

[Princesses need a bit more of liberty to fool around, Kizakura believes that]

Indeed. If not we could try something else.

[ she shakes her head ]

I never did outlandish experiments such as this back home in the castle. This is new to me.

Well, you're not in your castle right now. You could take this game as your chance to do stuff you can't do over there.

[Even something as simple as throwing a coconut into the oven can be a new experience]
