Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

Nope. It's against the rules anyway. [ he stops and looks up at her. ] Why, did you wanna sleep here?

[ cuz he could move, if so?? he's not judging anyone for wanting to break the rules. ]

[There's a split second where her expression basically reads: wtf, no?? because that wasn't at all the counter question she was expecting to hear, but her reaction smooths over into a head shake.]

And get tossed into the sky for it? No thanks.

[She sighs and moves closer to the furnace.]

So what are you doing here? You look pretty cozy with your pillow and covers.

[tangas]

[ he caught her expression and he's now grinning because of it. ]

Hey, some people like flying. Not gonna judge them for it.

[ he holds up a crane and bounces it to her. see this little guy likes flying. ]

Not sure if we're from the same place, but you're Japanese, right? Ever heard of the thousand cranes legend? Senbazuru. 'S what I'm trying to do.

[gyakusatsu]

There's a difference between flying and falling....

[.....why is she even engaging this discussion? She wonders, but the question comes after she's already opened her mouth.
With just a vague amount of regret, she decides to move on and nods yes to his question.]

Senbazuru... to make a wish?

[tangas]

[ a minor difference in his opinion! ]

Yeah. [ he perks up. ] Wanna help? I figured there's not much we can do now to get out of this situation, but if they can use some dumb legend to make us kill... Well, why not try one of our own legends to get out of here?

[gyakusatsu]

[Somehow this is not at all what she expected from the kid who has women's underwear listed as his likes on the plaques outside, but she has to admit that the innocence of the idea is a little sweet. If nothing else, the idea is a welcome distraction.]

I can't promise that I remember how to fold paper cranes, but I'll give it a shot, sure.

[She sits down and picks up a piece of paper.]
