Week 3
Week 3
Sunday - Thursday
The beginning of the third week starts like the rest, even with the loss of three of your fellow warriors: Chiaki, Hei, and Senhime. Despite your best hopes, it doesn't seem like the trend of murders is going to change: though at least there is some relief to be had from the trial's somewhat unexpected conclusion. The mood in the group is undoubtedly different, but perhaps this experience has made you all stronger— at least one could hope.
In the end, what else can you do but move on?
Like last week, it seems another pattern has established itself: with new areas of the castle for you to explore. Who knows, maybe this week you'll discover something else worthwhile in its depths. Or you can simply focus on surviving— after the past week, surely no one can blame you. Whatever choices you make this week are ultimately yours and yours alone, for better or for worse.

He's getting better and more confident with it as he goes, anyway.
He stops abruptly when Kurosaki takes a seat beside him.]
Oh, um. Hey there?
[He'll gladly pick right up where he left off if he's told to do so, but people coming and joining him seems like a thing he should at least acknowledge.]
no subject
But, uh, okay?! For some reason it hadn't dawned on him that someone would greet him, because why would they that's too normal?? ]
H-hey. [ Kurosaki shifts uncomfortably before looking around. ] Nice night?
no subject
I guess. Just couldn't sleep, really. Figured I'd try to figure out this thing, at least that's something productive. [He fidgets with the harmonica slightly.]
Can't sleep either?
no subject
Haven't tried yet. [ He casts his gaze unto the harmonica and then nods toward it. ] It did almost sound like something. A little awkward in places, but recognizable as a song.
What were you trying to play?
no subject
[No judgement, just observing! But oh, yeah, this thing.]
Just a song from back home, I figured I could at least try to get the melody. I haven't really played around with one of these before, though. I just asked for it from Miyamura because I was desperate, and something unfamiliar's still better than nothing.
[He gives a sheepish little laugh.]
Sorry you had to hear some sour notes, though. Wasn't expecting to put on a show just yet.
no subject
Nevermind. [ ... ] If it makes you feel any better, it could have been worse. Most people who try those things blow into them too hard. All they end up doing is making noise.
no subject
[Nothing special about it, really! If Kurosaki is visibly jealous, Elliot's an idiot and doesn't notice, so all's well that ends well.]
Haha, well. Least I'm not a complete failure with it! That's something, at least.
no subject
[ Anything to make the time pass a little faster and occupy his attention, he supposes. And if Miyamura likes it, what does it matter what he thinks... but he doesn't envy Elliot anymore either so there's that. ]
Yeah, it's something. [ But, come to think of it... ] Not that it matters, but why aren't you playing something you're more familiar with? I'm pretty sure we got that music room today, so why the harmonica?
no subject
[Why is he just accepting this. Elliot, please.]
Yeah, and I've been playing around in there all day. [He laughs.] It's a couple of things, though.
Fresh air, for one. For another, like I said, I wasn't really expecting anyone, so I figured now was as good a time as any to noodle around and see if I couldn't start getting the hang of this thing. Gotta practice before you get good at anything!
no subject
Sorry to ruin your perfect plan. [ A little dryly, though not necessarily stated in a mean-spirited way. He can just be cold sometimes. ] ... so, why do you want to get good at it? Are you trying to get your mind off everything, or is it because you honestly want to put on a show?
no subject
I think a little bit of both, to be honest. Practicing with any instrument's always been a great way to relax for me, so that's a big part of it. But if I have this thing, I may as well not let it go to waste, right?
I always wanted to use music to help people. The way I figure, if there's any time for that, it's now.
no subject
On that note, he looks away before nudging Elliot lightly with his elbow. ] Anyway, if you want to keep practicing, don't let me stop you. Just pretend I'm not here.
no subject
[He can't help but crack a smile at Kurosaki. He's a good guy, if a bit awkward.]
Well, if you insist.
[And with that, he'll go back to practicing, still smiling.
The song he manages is much more pleasant this time.]
no subject
He'll wince if Elliot makes any mistakes but won't point them out. Might as well not since, well, practice. There are bound to be some mistakes. ]
