week 8
Week 8
Sunday - Thursday
Whatever hopes you had going into the final trial have been dashed—after the execution, most of you were left with that unfortunate revelation, those bitter betrayals, and a lingering sense of regret over your failures. Even now, some of you may find it difficult to feel joy over the fact that everything is almost at an end. Understandably so, and even if things had been different, there's nothing that would erase your knowledge of the Emperor's ominous warning; a warning you either failed to heed or simply didn't know how to prevent.
In order to get through this new week, you will all need to pull yourselves together and work as a team. Some of you have already begun the process of trying to piece everything together. It's a start, but there's still much for you to discuss. After all, it wouldn't do to just suddenly discard all that information given to you, would it?
This week there aren't any new areas for you to explore. The only change in scenary comes from the sakura tree, and it's one that's hard to miss. The tree stands tall, branches full and lively, and the entire area around it seems that much more vibrant for it. The tree is in full bloom, a clear sign that your time in this castle has come to an end.
Anyone who tries to come too close to the tree will find themselves blocked by a white barrier.

[ Very, very early in the morning (like, stupid o'clock early, she didn't even sleep tonight whoops), Hanyuu is in the sewing room, dutifully making a katana-sized strap and holster. Carrying a big sword around might be good for endurance training at first, but eventually it gets tiresome. Fuck it.
Making one out of regular fabric doesn't seem to working, given how heavy it is, so she eventually pulls out some of the furred material. ...which also isn't the easiest given her thread keeps getting stuck in the fur. ]
...this would be much easier if we had plain leather to work with. But I suppose beggars can't be choosers, especially now.

[ Come nighttime, she...still hasn't slept, because Sunday is Bad Decisions Theater I guess. Anyone who wanders in here can find her staring up at the night sky through a pair of binoculars. At anyone coming in, she'll put them down. ]
Good evening...may I ask you a question? [ ... ] If after all of this, we get to return home, what will you do?
[ Because she has to head right to a new kakera and she is not looking forward to it. Can she get a vacation first? ]
iii - wildcard
[ hit me with anything! ]
i
Ah... you couldn't sleep either?
[He asked as he spotted the familiar face]

[ A sigh, and she puts the fabric aside for a moment ]
So I thought I would be productive instead of laying in bed with my eyes wide open.

[He takes a seat, crossing his leg]

[ will she fight the sage if she has to, yes. does she want to fight the sage, fuck no. ]

[He's a good fencer, he could probably injure either one with a well-thrown knife if he gets the jump on them, but he has no illusions, he would be annihilated by either one]

[She settles herself in a chair, regarding Hanyuu tiredly.]
After that, we'll likely go somewhere warm. Some isolated island where no one will bother us.
And yourself?
no subject
[ a smile, but a tired one ]
That sounds nice. I don't know if I can, but I'd like to go on a vacation to the beach, one day...

We tend to burn. Nonetheless, he enjoys the freedom to finally go after so many years of not being able to, and so we do.
What vital thing?

[ a pause, and Hanyuu closes her eyes ]
I was taking Rika to a new universe. But my powers have been weakening for some time, and it takes quite a bit out of me to traverse the Sea of Fragments. This will be the last one. If she does not survive, she will be gone for good.
[ Heavy words, but Hanyuu says them with a tone of placidity. Considering she thought Rika was permanently dead here, she thinks she can maybe be at peace with it, back home. Not that she'd be happy about it, but it wouldn't break her. Maybe. ]

I see.
[But no. There's little point in dwelling on that; it'll only serve to make them both even more miserable. And while Rosalind is typically not one to shy away from misery, there's facing it and then there's reveling in it.]
Then tell me instead . . . tell me where you two would go, if you had all the worlds to choose from.

...Depends, I guess. On what happens from here, on who gets to go back home.
If we all do, [even the dead,] I guess... I just go back to school, pretend nothing ever happened. If not... well. I get the extremely fun task of informing Governor Regnitz about what happened to Machias, to start with.
I think, either way, though... I want to visit one of my friends. It's been a little while since I went to see him, and now, more than ever, I really want to.
You?

[ out of everyone in this game elliot deserves some quality therapy the most ]
I think that's a nice idea. Do something simple but fun.
[ a pause ]
I have to get back to work, unfortunately.
no subject
[Not to dismiss the thought or anything, more to kind of promise it to her.]
Yeah. I think I'd like that. I mean... I don't think I can ever really tell him what I've seen here, but... I just wanna show him how much he means to me, at least in a small way, while I can. If this place has taught me anything, it's how much I need to do that with everyone I cherish.
[Sigh.]
...I'm sorry. I can't imagine that's a comforting thought. [And he doesn't even really know what it is she DOES. Ha ha, Elliot, you have no idea.] Especially after this... having to go back to business as usual has kinda gotta be a hell of its own.
WILDCARD
--Until she realizes that oh, hey, there is a person there.]
Ah- Hanyuu-san. Hello.
no subject
Hello. [ briefly, she glances at the door numbers, and--oh. ]
You are taking a look in Kizakura's room?
no subject
I just took a peek, and I didn't find anything especially useful.
[Sigh.]
no subject
What was it Kizakura had told her? If something happens to me, ask Misora-san for my key, enter my room and take my bottles of booze.
He'd said only if he was dead...but everything was reaching the end, now. Did it matter? She still doesn't feel right spilling a secret like that. Maybe she could ask him? ]
I may be able to help. Will you excuse me for a moment...?

Hanyuu-san?

"three corpses have been in this river, hanyuu" MANY WORSE THINGS HAVE BEEN IN THE HINAMIZAWA RIVER, DON'T GIVE HER THAT ]
Hmm? Yes, what is it?
no subject
I had a few questions I'd like to ask you if I may, since you seem to be a resident expert in the subject of weapons.
May I sit?
[He nods to the ground next to her.]
no subject
...the secret is that she hasn't slept. Like, at all. She's pulling a 24+ hour shift, rip. ]
Feel free, yes. But I'd hardly say I am an expert, it's just my hobby.
