week 8
Week 8
Sunday - Thursday
Whatever hopes you had going into the final trial have been dashed—after the execution, most of you were left with that unfortunate revelation, those bitter betrayals, and a lingering sense of regret over your failures. Even now, some of you may find it difficult to feel joy over the fact that everything is almost at an end. Understandably so, and even if things had been different, there's nothing that would erase your knowledge of the Emperor's ominous warning; a warning you either failed to heed or simply didn't know how to prevent.
In order to get through this new week, you will all need to pull yourselves together and work as a team. Some of you have already begun the process of trying to piece everything together. It's a start, but there's still much for you to discuss. After all, it wouldn't do to just suddenly discard all that information given to you, would it?
This week there aren't any new areas for you to explore. The only change in scenary comes from the sakura tree, and it's one that's hard to miss. The tree stands tall, branches full and lively, and the entire area around it seems that much more vibrant for it. The tree is in full bloom, a clear sign that your time in this castle has come to an end.
Anyone who tries to come too close to the tree will find themselves blocked by a white barrier.

[ majima's sauntering out to the blooming tree, a bottle of vodka in one hand and a lighter in another. the bottle is full and he's not drinking any of it, but when he gets near enough to the white barrier ]
Eh? What?
[ he knows better than to try to poke it or anything so he just takes a step back, looks at the ground of grass and proceeds to open the bottle and pour the contents out, covering a nice little patch of grass. he kicks the empty bottle away, pulls a pack of cigarettes out of his pocket and lights one for himself. ]
Fuck this.
[ his pendant is showing, and he flicks it with two fingers like hes trying to get their attention and then drops the lit cigarette into the vodka to light the grass on fire. ]
Enjoy the show.
afternoon; armory
[ after the fire thing doesn't work out majima goes upstairs to the armory (a place he is now, for better or worse, intimately familiar with) he's stiff and anxious on his first step into the the room, but he pushes himself past it. he seems to be collecting swords - doesn't matter which ones, just a nice handful. he's really intent on what he's doing so he might not notice if anyone comes in here. then again someone just died in here so like who is gonna be in here anyway? ]
post-armory; fire-chan
[ after collecting the swords majima's down at fire-chan trying to chat it up. ]
Come on, Fire-chan, ya're always real beautiful, jus' eat the damn swords.
[ but fire-chan is pretty set on not listening to him so he's just arguing with it while holding these damn things. ]
evening; kitchen
[ he doesn't actually appear to be making food, he's just chilling here because it's a place to go. they've got lots of time before curfew still but: ]
Hey, ya think they'd still really kill us for the terrible offense of sleepin' in here? Even though they need nine or whatever?
kitchen
...perhaps not. But I would not tempt them just in case.
no subject
They need all of us, though, yeah? I told Sage I'd kill Kizakura but he said he'd just stop me.
[ so open now! so sharing! ]

cw suicide mention
There's something weirdly familiar about this, seeing how Majima's acting and the alcohol he has with him. Except no, she knows exactly why it seems familiar. Eizen was basically the exact same way when Edna died. Why does she always run into guys who lose someone important to them and then try to kill themselves in the most roundabout way?? Honestly.]
Can't you just drink your sorrows away like most people? [HONESTLY.]

I was gonna murder Kizakura, but Sage told me he'd stop me. So this is the next best thing.

[Having now rested and recuperated after... everything, Hiyono goes to the music room first thing in the morning. This time, she places paper dolls of Misora and Nishitani with the others at the little shrine at the back of the stage. Misora is placed near Rhoda and Natalia (and by extension Edna and Asch), and Nishitani ends up by Miyamura and Kurosaki. As with before, she spends a few minutes sitting in front of the shrine before getting up to leave. Feel free to catch her attention, however - she's not so deep in thought she won't notice others entering the room.]
[Art Room]
[Having made some tea using the quality stuff from the meditation room, Hiyono can be found in here with all sorts of art projects going on. A watercolor set has been pulled out and the paper left to dry with a fairly simple painting of what appears to be an iris flower, as well as scraps of clay currently being molded. She's got one little hooded figure that's likely supposed to be the sage, and is currently working on what must be the Teishu.
There is also, for no particular reason, a clean palette knife set aside.
Look, they have to make their own entertainment here, alright?]
[Library]
[Anyway. After a nice session twisting little clay Sage and Teishu into amusingly morbid shapes, Hiyono finally comes to hang out in the library, picking out various books. From the looks of it, she's going for the trashiest romance novels she possibly can in here.
Every artist needs to take the time to get inspired, after all!]

art room;
She settles at the table, putting her notebook down and putting pencil to paper. It's going to be another sketch of Robert, but unlike the formal portraits of before, this seems to be something more relaxed.]
Going to indulge in executing an effigy?
no subject
Living can be so much more painful.
[She adds a little more clay, quickly working to smooth it into the rest of the mass. It's coming together nicely, even if the figures themselves are extremely simple.]

There's not much to be said, so instead, he simply seats himself beside Hiyono, quietly. After a moment, though, he does speak up.]
It really is a lovely little shrine.
no subject
...I wish we didn't need it to begin with.
[But it's pointless to say that now, and she knows it.]
I wonder what I should do with the leftover dolls... Passing them out now seems a little morbid, but I don't want to just burn them, either.
[If anything, that feels like an even worse omen.]

[ Very, very early in the morning (like, stupid o'clock early, she didn't even sleep tonight whoops), Hanyuu is in the sewing room, dutifully making a katana-sized strap and holster. Carrying a big sword around might be good for endurance training at first, but eventually it gets tiresome. Fuck it.
Making one out of regular fabric doesn't seem to working, given how heavy it is, so she eventually pulls out some of the furred material. ...which also isn't the easiest given her thread keeps getting stuck in the fur. ]
...this would be much easier if we had plain leather to work with. But I suppose beggars can't be choosers, especially now.

[ Come nighttime, she...still hasn't slept, because Sunday is Bad Decisions Theater I guess. Anyone who wanders in here can find her staring up at the night sky through a pair of binoculars. At anyone coming in, she'll put them down. ]
Good evening...may I ask you a question? [ ... ] If after all of this, we get to return home, what will you do?
[ Because she has to head right to a new kakera and she is not looking forward to it. Can she get a vacation first? ]

...Depends, I guess. On what happens from here, on who gets to go back home.
If we all do, [even the dead,] I guess... I just go back to school, pretend nothing ever happened. If not... well. I get the extremely fun task of informing Governor Regnitz about what happened to Machias, to start with.
I think, either way, though... I want to visit one of my friends. It's been a little while since I went to see him, and now, more than ever, I really want to.
You?
