week 8
Week 8
Sunday - Thursday
Whatever hopes you had going into the final trial have been dashed—after the execution, most of you were left with that unfortunate revelation, those bitter betrayals, and a lingering sense of regret over your failures. Even now, some of you may find it difficult to feel joy over the fact that everything is almost at an end. Understandably so, and even if things had been different, there's nothing that would erase your knowledge of the Emperor's ominous warning; a warning you either failed to heed or simply didn't know how to prevent.
In order to get through this new week, you will all need to pull yourselves together and work as a team. Some of you have already begun the process of trying to piece everything together. It's a start, but there's still much for you to discuss. After all, it wouldn't do to just suddenly discard all that information given to you, would it?
This week there aren't any new areas for you to explore. The only change in scenary comes from the sakura tree, and it's one that's hard to miss. The tree stands tall, branches full and lively, and the entire area around it seems that much more vibrant for it. The tree is in full bloom, a clear sign that your time in this castle has come to an end.
Anyone who tries to come too close to the tree will find themselves blocked by a white barrier.

[And so it burns. She watches the flames consume it for a moment before she speaks again, not turning to Majima.]

However, they are also the symbol of a god where I'm from. A god who rewards his followers' faith with betrayal.
[Her voice remains sharp. He can probably see where this is going.</i.]

[She's been sighing a lot lately, but there's a lot to sigh about.]
What I'm saying is, I've seen a god tear apart brothers just as close as you and Nishitani-san, all for the sake of his own justice. He's god, after all--
Whatever he chooses to do, however he chooses to act... All of it is just. All of it is righteous.
[No matter how much people disagreed with his actions, they could do nothing to stop him.]
...I hoped to never see it again. [She wasn't particularly fond of either of the brothers, that's for certain, but theirs was a unique suffering even she could sympathize with.]
I didn't forgive it then, and I won't forgive it now.

[ he's neither condemning her words nor supporting them, really. ]

[Not just those who won his favor, not excluding those who may have betrayed him. Because they have two traitors among them, and in spite of everything--
She still wants to see all nine of them out of here alive.]

Even if you disagree, please play nice with them. I know things will be difficult, but we can't afford to have any infighting.
I'll try to keep supporting everyone, but there's only so much I can do alone.
