Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

[ He wasn't in?! There's an awkward moment where it feels like his heart's doing something crazy on account of nerves, surprise, and adoration, but he... kinda... forces it down.

He clears his throat and nods his head before realizing, oh. Miyamura-kun might miss that. ] Got it! [ His teeth weren't chattering were they? He can't tell if he was stuttering or not, but the brave face is up and he heads to the door and throws it open!

... wait, it was unlocked? ]

[ but he's almost done? should have protested two seconds ago. or 17 years ago when his parents decided to have a second child. ]

[ he holds out a hand. ok give him the dress plz. ]

Yeah. Unless we got someone who can stay up all night and see everyone at once to stalk them nonstop, someone's always gonna find a way to slide under the radar.

[Sen and Natalia both somehow managed to let Asch slip right under their noses as he killed someone, and they were all in one room. On top of that, they just assumed and trusted him not to kill someone.

And to her, that's just stupid.]

The only person you can really look out for is yourself.

She catches it, but the instant it lands in her hands, it snaps viciously and she drops the thing anyway. Cursing under her breath as the book attempts to scuttle away, she gives the book a solid kick towards the tree trunk and picks it up in the few seconds that it seems dazed or ... whatever's going on with it.]

Do you think you've gotten everything you can out of this... thing or do you plan on sitting on it for a little while longer?

[Perhaps literally sitting on it, who knows.]

[ ... is that from his closet? Kinda hard to tell from afar so he stops closer and then— Wow, that was weirdly possessive of Hiyono.

[Mahiro just stares at Miyamura's hand for one very long second before he turns the fuck around and promptly crams the dress into the furnace. Be that as it may, considering his really shitty compliments from before didn't do much, that dress gets quickly spit up and sent out to land right at Miyamura's feet.

[ he brushes past the other boy and sets his stuff down on the desk, covers and all. pauses and turns back to kurosaki when he realizes the other boy is probably still standing in the doorway, waiting for permission or something. ]

[ Good call! He absolutely is still standing in the doorway, waiting for permission (or something). ] Y-yes!

[ He's about to apologize but then he, uh, remembers the last time he thanked Miyamura. No need for a repeat of that, so instead he takes a step back, peers around to make sure Hiyono isn't watching this, then enters the room and shuts the door behind him.

Moving on like he didn't just do something weird, he moves to the desk and pokes at some of the stuff. ] What's all this?

Aside from murder, duh. I'm not exactly looking forward to being locked in a room for half a day again. [She's sure another body will turn up soon enough, but that trial was NOT fun.]

[ no thanks, mahiro! though you're still beautiful or maybe just ok lookin', who knows. whatever, who cares. ]

[narrowing her eyes] Like a year or something? What the hell does that have to do with drinking anyways?

[A legal drinking age wasn't exactly around in fantasy medieval land.]

[Decades what the heck!! She doesn't know how to use something like this, but it doesn't mean that she hasn't seen it before in battle. Why is everyone always so baffled when it comes to what's familiar and normal to her, huh.]

[Meanwhile Mahiro is just standing there watching a teenage boy try and squeeze into a ballet dress that's a couple sizes too small for him while in a murdercastle. This is absurd. Everything is absurd. Giant sentient tree gods have nothing on this shit, man.]

Just let it burn to ashes here? [The point is to get rid of it, right? And it's not like either of them have to clean up!!

[ shutting the door? miyamura glances from the door to kurosaki. does the other boy intend to stay then? well... there's space, he guesses, if they squeeze. he doesn't exactly mind either, so ok, sure. ]

Materials for making cranes. I was bored and... [ he pulls out the chair and waves for kurosaki to take a seat before plopping himself down on the bed. ] Not like there are seven witches here for the wish making ceremony, so I made do.

[ i.e., he was trying to fold 1000 cranes. he has about 50 or so in the box. ]

Making cranes? [ ... cute.

To distract himself from thinking anything too endearing (and more importantly, to avoid looking at Miyamura too affectionately), he peers into the box, carefully pulls out a crane, and sits down while looking at it.

He's still smiling, of course. The important thing is he's trying here. ] With only one witch around you'd have to, huh? It might be a little less convenient, but I think it's... better. [ It's cuter. ]

What are you going to wish for?

[He watches the flames sputter about feebly as they struggle to cover the entirety of the dress. It's surprisingly intact, all things considered, but then again it wasn't really in the furnace for that long anyways and he'd kind of balled it up to toss it into the furnace opening. Also that sure is the smell of burning nylon, huh!?]

It's not gonna be able to burn down like this, anyways. Tch. It'd be easier if we had matches.

[In other words, he's not entirely unopposed to the 'well let's just let it burn away on the floor nbd' plan if it weren't for the whole not-enough-fire thing.]

[ nothing big; just that they're all free of this place - which he's not going to say. no one really expect serious answers from him anyway. ]

For a year's supply of porn mags since this place is so boring.

[ he watches kurosaki's expression carefully at that. his smile is nice now, but usually when miyamura says something like that, people end up embarrassed or angry or both. no one smiles that nicely after.

but.

hm. now it feels like he's testing kurosaki - and he doesn't want that either. it feels kind of dirty in a way that doesn't sit well with him, so he drops his gaze and eyes the crane in the other boy's hand. ]

Or not. I'll tell you when my wish comes true.

What the hell is 'Ufemew Wexub'?

[He probably totally mangled that name but it doesn't even sound like a real word to him so meh.]

[ If Miyamura's watching for discomfort, yeah, he's going to spot it. Kurosaki shifts his gaze from the crane to the wall, then to the wall opposite it. Is it... okay to say what he's thinking?

Miyamura moved on, but he, uh. Kind of wants to comment. He's not sure if it's going to make the other boy uncomfortable though. Still shifting his eyes (and with a warmer face), he gently throws the crane toward Miyamura like it's a paper airplane. ]

If it were me... Instead of wishing for the porn mags, I'd rather have the real thing.

Bedroom

[Wake him up, you say? Well apparently Mahiro is passing by after dragging a bunch of shit to his room, so he'll notice the open door down the hallway. There's a bit of an eyebrow raise at Ayumu's precarious position, but he doesn't let that deter him from stepping into the room and kicking the door so it bounces off the wall with a bang.

Well that's one way to do it, right?]
