Week 4

Week 4
Sunday - Thursday

You've lost four in the past week—Machias, Vanitas, Natalia and Edna. Just in time for the fourth week to roll around, for those of you who are superstitious. But it really isn't like you could forget that death is a common occurrence in this castle, whether you believe in legends or not. Some of you might find solace in the chance to recuperate and move on, if you're still up for companionship with your fellow warriors.

Either way, dawn is soon upon the castle and like it or not, you will all have to face whatever comes this week.

Like before the pattern repeats itself, with new areas revealed for you to explore. It may be that something worth discovering lies in wait to be found, or you can simple enjoy the new additions for what they are. Distractions are most likely welcome, regardless of your feelings of the past week.

SURVIVING WARRIORS: 21

(OOC: Welcome to Week 4 of Ukimiya! Feel free to comment to the weekly top levels and thread as you like, and redeem coins at the wishing pool.

Technically you could poison someone with anything. It's as if the whole world was made to kill us.

[It's a wonder humanity survives, what with so many things being bad if it's in excess or too little of it]

I'm startin' ta think we're gonna find out, bein' stuck here.

[ He shrugs. ]

I ain't never seen this many poisons before comin' here. What happened to old-fashioned stabbin'?

What's so good about stabbing someone?

[He doesn't sound judgmental, it's more like he doesn't understand the mindset of preferring a specific way of killing. Maybe because Kizakura is just a civilian who doesn't fight]

Let's ya get up close an' personal! 's a more... visceral feelin', ya know? There's danger, the whole nine yards.

[ He really gets off on thrills and pain... yikes. But then he's the kind of person who wouldn't survive in the real world, he was practically born to be a yakuza. ]

Poisonin' somebody's just a waitin' game. That's some bullshit.

Remind me not to ask you to kill me if I ever feel like dying. Sounds like it'd be a hassle.

[Not that Kizakura would ask someone to kill him, that's nonsense]

I guess that explains...why the person who was killing people before I arrived here was doing it by stabbing. They wanted to eliminate us, why not to have fun while doing it.

I'd kill ya quick, pal! Make it quick an' painless, ya know?

[ He smirks. ]

Ya said it yerself, ya ain't strong. Ain't as fun ta kill people who can't fuckin' defend themselves. Least fer me -- and maybe fer yer killer pal back home, too.

[The more Nishitani talks, the less Kizakura understands him. They have completely different mindsets about everything, the amount of times he has fully agreed with him can be counted in one hand. Still...there's something calming about talking with him]

Alright, I get it. You like a good fight. So how about you tell me about your biggest challenge? Come on, tell me the best fight you had.

[ It's like watching a trainwreck on TV, you can't look away but you're (probably) not in any real danger... ]

My best fight ever, eh...? That's easy! The first time I fought Majima... and the second.

[ He nods. Clearly even the memory is enough to make him sound super excited. ]

Think the first time mighta been the best. He wasn't gonna fight me, so I hadta get creative. Fuck, that was a good one.

And by 'getting creative' what exactly do you mean?

[He's imagining an ultimatum]

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-08-23 03:39 am (UTC)(link)
Well, back then ol' Majima wasn't in the Yakuza. He was workin' as the manager for a big ol' cabaret named the Grand.

[ He chuckles at the memory. Ah, good times. ]

Anyway, ol' Majima was big on rules and policies, see. "The customer is king," he usedta say. So when I met 'im there and challenged him to a fight, he wouldn't lift a finger against me cause I was a payin' customer! What a guy, right? [ This is the part where he swoons a little. ] Anyways, I hadta "get creative" an' figure out how ta stop bein' a customer, yeah? So I called up the police and told 'em I was a robber, tryin' ta stick up the place. Once I did that, he finally let loose! It was fuckin' great!

[ Nishitani is... a creative guy, what can I say. ]

...somehow I find myself completely unsurprised you did something so drastic. That's very like you.

[It can't be said Nishitani doesn't get things done, wow]

I guess that's how you get far in your business, going ahead without caring that much about consequences.

Heheh, yeah, I don't let any shit stop me.

[ He grins! Boy it's so cool being a gangsta. ]

Ya got that right! That, an' havin' enough connections and money that the consequences don't matter too much. I still play by the rules, I just play 'em how they fuckin' suit me. Like, ta get ta talk ta Majima, I knew I'd hafta kick out the resta his customers. But I ain't a bad guy or nothin', I just rented the whole place out an' gave all his girls a bonus so they'd be, y'know, more amicable ta a guy like me showin' up. [ A guy like him, meaning, a super obvious yakuza. ] Nobody turns down free fuckin' money!
