Sunday - Thursday
You've lost four in the past week—Machias, Vanitas, Natalia and Edna. Just in time for the fourth week to roll around, for those of you who are superstitious. But it really isn't like you could forget that death is a common occurrence in this castle, whether you believe in legends or not. Some of you might find solace in the chance to recuperate and move on, if you're still up for companionship with your fellow warriors.
Either way, dawn is soon upon the castle and like it or not, you will all have to face whatever comes this week.
Like before the pattern repeats itself, with new areas revealed for you to explore. It may be that something worth discovering lies in wait to be found, or you can simple enjoy the new additions for what they are. Distractions are most likely welcome, regardless of your feelings of the past week.

[Well obviously Ros is going to set up shop in here.
Really, after four weeks of trying to occupy herself with the most menial of things, this is a blessing. She's in there the moment she discovers it, reveling in the beakers and dusty equipment, immediately taking stock of the chemicals there. Come in as she tuts and moves things around, arranging the chemicals more sensibly, or when she starts experimenting. Maybe she'll make something explode if you ask nice! God knows she's looking for something to occupy her mind.

[. . . for when she heads into the chess room. What a delight that is. Rosalind doesn't smile, but she is pleased as she steps on the board and the pieces light up before her. She's eager to play, though if no one wants to, she'll happily play against herself.

[It’s almost a miracle Eizen’s actually out of his room, but it’s not in his nature to sit in one place. It’s against his true name people heard at the trial. Not that he’ll say it again—there’s a special meaning for telling someone that name and someone else knowing it so if they can’t remember, good. It’s probably for the better. He actually got sleep, not that he needed it, but he needed someone of a mental reset after all that's happened.
People will notice there’s a green ribbon tied around Eizen’s arm— one that was around Edna’s arm that she’d given him during the trial, or they may not notice as he’s picking flowers. Spider lilies, forget-me-nots, yellow tulips, daisies, gladiolus, lilacs, you name it. Pretty much a few that represent pain and death, yet the rest represent sunshine and cheer. Anyone familiar with flower language will probably know who he’s picking them for—then again no one would likely need that knowledge anyway.]
Room 11/Edna’s room – midmorning to early afternoon
[Those flowers are placed in front of Edna’s room like a memorial. They aren’t haphazardly placed there and he seems to take his time arranging the flowers and then wrapping it in a green ribbon he had cut out from fabric in the sewing room. Other people had been kind to make graves for everyone, but Eizen… doesn’t care about everyone else that died. He only cared for one person here, really, which is why he’s going through this effort. He sits in front of her room for a bit, not caring that he’s probably taking up a bit of hallway space to pass through, a stoic look on his face but it almost looks like he’s praying as well. He’ll be there for a few hours meditating and praying before he leaves.]
Pond – early afternoon to… whenever, he’ll probably be here Monday morning too like he never left. Warning for alcoholism.
[Well, he’s back here fishing in the pond as he throws a lure in and holds his fishing rod while he sits mostly cross legged at the edge of the pond. He has two bottles of rum with him, but he’s actually nursing them… sort of it. At least he’s not downing it, but he’s definitely honoring Hei’s character by just drinking the day away, apparently. And fishing! Maybe he’ll catch some koi, or maybe he’ll get an interesting catch like he did before. Either way, it seems like he’s here as a distraction and considering fishing is one of his hobbies he can actually deal with the patience of the port.]

INVESTIGATION
[An alchemy lab got the man to come out of his room, and he brought his manuscript with him - the strange illustrations and script betray lore involving the craft. He is a complete beginner, but that won't stop him and with a more dedicated lab, the doctor feels more comfortable experimenting to see if his world's alchemy works here.
But before he sets to work, he goes to investigate the shelves and equipment, it'd be awful if something blew up because of a leaky beaker or a cracked jar]

[Elliot has been very, very quiet for the past two days. He's cried, of course, but for the most part, he's just been utterly numb. He was supposed to look after her, and yet, Natalia died. Died protecting him (and everyone else), no less. It's been hard to feel anything other than the hollow ache of failure.
But there is a new promise to keep to Natalia, now, and he will cling to that desperately. It's all he has to keep him moving forward. Relentlessly.
So it may come as a bit of a surprise to the remnants of Team Roomie when Elliot comes back into their room early in the morning, puffy-eyed and exhausted-looking, but with a little smile on his face. He's carrying something with him, and the aroma will give him away long before his words confirm it.]

Depending on when anyone comes in, Elliot will be either at the piano or on a violin, playing something gentle and sweet. Anyone who comes in will earn a glance of recognition, but he won't stop playing to converse until he's either done with the song or someone else speaks up first. He's not unused to being watched while practicing, after all.]

[Turns out, two days of little sleep takes its toll on you.
Elliot has failed to close the door all the way, and if anyone pokes their head in, they'll see him flopped face-down on the bed, cuddling with a very long pillow. A very long pillow that is still, completely inconspicuously, flipped upside down, because there is clearly no half-naked picture of his friend on the other side or anything.

I wonder if you can play against yourself...I once heard about a story where the characters had to play a game of giant chess to progress forward. It's unlikely Sage-san would leave any clues around here, but it'd be interesting to play with giant chess pieces, right?

New to the menu is okonomiyaki, yes, okonomiyaki! It's already prepared, because there's no real way to grill it yourself here, but with homemade sauce it does indeed exist.]

[ Like clockwork, the Sage's voice emanates from the pendants. However, unlike the previous one, there's no rush, no hurry, and no unnecessary prodding on his end: the Sage's words are even and cool, without a hint of tension or strain.
Even without his reminder, everyone should be familiar with this routine. All this message shows is, in this place, there are cordialities to be kept. Especially on Tuesdays.
As soon as everyone enters the Great Hall, letters form together in green, glowing brightly and vibrantly. ]
Some among you have begun to waver when it comes to the challenge—or should I say some of you had no intention of participating from the very beginning? There are a number of you who thought themselves above these "games", while others believed themselves too weak or too dim to be little more than a sacrifice. For those of you who have had neither hope nor a reason to fight, allow me to inspire you.
I request you take a look at the pendant hanging from your neck. Many of you have questioned their purpose, how they work, and why you've been given these specific gems. Allow me to shed a small amount of light on these pendants—and one of the many functions they serve. The pendants keep a tenable connection to your world. They are what will allow us to return you safely from where you were taken. The longer you wear them, the more they attune to you and the easier it shall be to return you to the precise moment you were taken. However, through this process we've found something... interesting.
Though I can't say why or how—those who you have strong bonds with have become candidates for the challenge. These candidates can be easily plucked from their worlds to replace any Warrior here who fails to perform their duties.
I should mention, each of you has only the one replacement. They cannot be exchanged for anyone else's, much as you might wish that were the case.

An image of an individual floods your vision; it could be your best friend, a sibling, a lover, a spouse, or even just someone you feel a deep connection to. [Elliot is hard at work this morning. He's got a couple bowls of cut fruit set neatly off to the side, a pot of coffee going on the stove, and he's scrambling up some eggs in a pan.
He's clearly planning something, since this is way too much food for just him. He seems relatively content as he works, though, and probably wouldn't mind some conversation before he finishes up.]

Well, okay. It's not so much revenge as it is that Misora and Rhoda were both just about as upset as he was yesterday, if not more so - Misora, at least, looked dangerous for a moment, there. He's worried, and he wants to do something nice for them.
Besides, he can't deny that in a way, the two women remind him a lot of his older sister. Fiona, who babied him all his life, who would still be babying him if she were here - just like they seem set on doing, sometimes. He's far from being a baby anymore. He's going to be an adult soon enough, and he's going to start taking care of people, too, whether or not they have anything to say about it.
He unlocks the door, then bends down to pick up a plate he'd had to set down and nudges the door open with his shoulder.]

[As indicated on her note, Misora is at the training grounds. She has her hair tied back in a pony tail and is wearing this questionable t-shirt and has the look of someone who seems incredibly uncomfortable about what they're wearing but is trying not to let that show.
She's not really expecting too many people to bother with physical training considering the last two murders involved poisons, but it's at least something to keep her thoughts occupied. So rather than simply waiting for people, she begins practicing, maneuvering from the ginga stance of capoeira into a one handed backflip into a spinning kick. She pauses when she spots someone approaching.]

[There's a few new things about Tiki today: she's in a new pretty pink dress—not the glittery monstrosity the pond gifted her but something simpler and hand-sewn. Around her neck, tied to a piece of yarn, there's a single feather, crisp and perfect white. Neither of these are quite as noteworthy as the cape, vivid blue outside and lined with a deep and regal red inside, over her shoulders like a security blanket held by a child who's gotten kind of cold in the winter.
The real reason the cape is noteworthy is that it's definitely too long for her and she keeps getting caught on the end, tripping, and falling down with loud bwaaaugh! noise.
Buuut she picks herself up and dusts herself off easily every single time, still looking happy as a clam.]

[As dinnertime approaches, Tiki takes up residence in the kitchen, partially because it's going to be busy and she'll be able to talk to people, partially because she has to mooch food off of someone. The traffic, though, makes the kitchen a perfect spot for Tiki to accost people, so whenever someone walks in, Tiki immediately scurries over and holds out a bag of jellybeans.]
