Week 4

Sunday - Thursday

You've lost four in the past week—Machias, Vanitas, Natalia and Edna. Just in time for the fourth week to roll around, for those of you who are superstitious. But it really isn't like you could forget that death is a common occurrence in this castle, whether you believe in legends or not. Some of you might find solace in the chance to recuperate and move on, if you're still up for companionship with your fellow warriors.

Either way, dawn is soon upon the castle and like it or not, you will all have to face whatever comes this week.

Like before the pattern repeats itself, with new areas revealed for you to explore. It may be that something worth discovering lies in wait to be found, or you can simple enjoy the new additions for what they are. Distractions are most likely welcome, regardless of your feelings of the past week.

I'm thinking with a little more practice and maybe hunting down a couple more buddies, I might be able to put on a little concert for us here.

[And um, no looking at him. He's totally not fessing up to having some skill at singing. It's going to take stalker skills to find that one out.]

There's gotta be at least some people! Doesn't really matter if they're great at any of these, just so long as they're willing to come up and have some fun.

I figure if I'm in here enough, I'll eventually see other people filter in that I can ask. And if all else fails, I can always ask Hiyono!

Well, good luck with that! Me, I definitely don't have any skill like that at all. [Though the way he's kind of slowly backing away may say otherwise here.]

Seems kinda fishy to start backing out all of a sudden, though, y'know? Most people say goodbye and then turn around.

Nah, you're just imagining things. No fish here! Just me totally remembering that I left something on the stove in the kitchen! Yeah, don't need to be burning the place down or anything like that.

[His lie is so obvious it's sad. But he's most definitely backing out and going to be heading towards the kitchen. Nope, totally doesn't want to get roped into doing something like that in front of others even if he's actually good enough to not be laughed at.]

Oh, really? [Elliot sets down the violin and follows after Jansen] We better make sure it's safe, then!

[Oh, please. Do you think you get away from the music yandere that easily?]

[Damn, it was such a perfect seeming escape too!]

Of course! Don't want to end up breaking a rule by accident or anything!

[And he's already got the perfect excuse for when they get there. Someone else must have taken care of it, or he totally misremembered and he had removed it from the heat. But anyway, he's taking off towards the kitchen.]

Of course not. That'd just be awful.

[You cannot escape, Jansen. Elliot's hot on his heels.]

[Well, they'll reach the kitchen and of course there's nothing on the stove so now time for a new excuse!]

Phew, looks like someone else saw it and moved it first... and took the food as well. [He even gives a very believable crestfallen expression to go with the food being "missing".]

Well, that's rude of them. Sorry about your food that was definitely here before.

[Does Jansen get the impression Elliot doesn't believe him? Well, either way, this little adventure is over now.]

But really. Are you sure you don't have any talent? I mean, all an instrument takes is some practice, and if you really can't do that, there's always singing...

Definitely have no talent at all. [And he doesn't even sound like he's outright lying. He knows he's not awful, but definitely wouldn't count himself as talented unless it was a matter of everyone else is completely tone deaf. Problem is he has a pretty low self-confidence that he actually hides very well.] Never had the time or money to even consider taking up an instrument myself. Doesn't mean I can't appreciate playing as good as yours or Ming's.

[Yet he does seem to have an interest and some knowledge and something that could be developed, the hard part is getting him enough confidence to perform in front of even someone he likes and trusts.]

I could try teaching you a little, if you wanted.

[Okay, he's less creepy now, and seems genuine!]

You don't need to be good to have fun with it. The best part of music is just doing things with people, after all.
