Week 4
Week 4
Sunday - Thursday
You've lost four in the past week—Machias, Vanitas, Natalia and Edna. Just in time for the fourth week to roll around, for those of you who are superstitious. But it really isn't like you could forget that death is a common occurrence in this castle, whether you believe in legends or not. Some of you might find solace in the chance to recuperate and move on, if you're still up for companionship with your fellow warriors.
Either way, dawn is soon upon the castle and like it or not, you will all have to face whatever comes this week.
Like before the pattern repeats itself, with new areas revealed for you to explore. It may be that something worth discovering lies in wait to be found, or you can simple enjoy the new additions for what they are. Distractions are most likely welcome, regardless of your feelings of the past week.

Kitchen
[At least Elliot seems to be okay! It's always nice to see other people with high spirits]

[He smiles over at Kizakura.]
If I wasn't almost done here, I'd offer to make you an omelette, too, but I don't want things to get cold for them.

[It's one thing to sleep in the same room, it's another thing to make a big breakfast for everyone]
no subject
[He looks back to his cooking as he continues.]
It was just kind of a way to keep safe, at first, but... they've been there a lot for me these past couple of weeks.

[You're lifting Kizakura's spirits. Not that he was gloomy before, but yeah]
Besides, being here is an opportunity to do stuff you wouldn't do otherwise. Have you done anything new these last few weeks?
no subject
I did get to try a harmonica, though! So that was pretty fun.
no subject
Good. Keep going, with the breakfast, I won't bother you.
[Well, that's what he says, but he barely steps away for a minute before he returns, considerably more serious now]
...how are your roommates holding up? Are they okay?
no subject
As okay as I think any of us are gonna get right now. [He glances over, his own expression serious.] It's... they keep trying to tell me it's not my fault when we lose people, but I wonder if I'm the only one who needs to be told that.
no subject
[Most likely you aren't, Elliot. Other people may think the same]
no subject
[He looks away.]
It's hard not to. Logically, I know it's not my fault. But I feel like I should have been there to protect them.
no subject
[Kizakura sighs. He understands anyone would want to make sure others don't die, but it's not like anything can be done about the game]
You'll have to limit yourself to protecting only a few.

I had promises to keep, and I broke them, and now they're gone.
[Not verbally, with Machias, but Class VII's bonds were an unspoken vow in and of themselves. Natalia, on the other hand, that was an explicit promise.
She's forgiven him, he read the letter. But forgiving himself is another matter entirely.]
no subject
So what will you do now? You're here, they're not...what will you do?
no subject
...Live, I guess. I'd never hear the end of it from them once I joined them if I didn't.
It's just gonna be a while until I actually feel like I'm living again.
