week 7
Week 7
Sunday - Thursday
With the loss of two more warriors, the castle has grown even quieter still. Such a thing was always bound to become a consequence of your stay here, though the actual reality of it may be more unpleasant. There's been little in the way of parties, which isn't too much of a surprise given your dwindling numbers, but it's still better than nothing, correct?
As with every other week, new locations have been unveiled for you all to either explore or use to casually gather within. If you've been keeping an eye on the cherry blossoms, you'll note that they look just about ready to bloom. The important thing is, of course, that they haven't. But it's only a matter of time, now.

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)

[He blinks over at Nishitani at that last question.]
Um... I don't know, exactly. [He frowns a bit. Why do things have to be all complicated...] They said it was 1212 here, right? Where I came from, it's 1205.
But we have a lot of things this place doesn't. Appliances, airships, computers are getting more common... just, orbal energy, in general.
I dunno if that's the future to you, or what. But I don't think we run off the same calendar either way.
no subject
[ He sighs. Yakuza stuff isn't really stuff to talk about with a kid... ]
Everybody's got a different calendar, yeah. Betcha only Teishu-kun could make sense of this shit.
It's 1988 where I'm from. But we ain't got computers unless they're huge an' bulky, and we got, ya know, planes but I dunno about airships. Plus "orbal energy" sounds like fuckin' gibberish ta me, so I'm guessin' we don't got that either.
no subject
Oh, our computers are pretty bulky, too. [He tries to mime the size... if an extraordinarily bulky CRT monitor was placed on a desk-height pedestal, that's about the dimensions he's trying to show.] But we still had to learn how to use 'em at Thors, since the military's starting to use 'em more and more.
Oh! Rhoda was telling me about planes. I think they're... kinda like slimmed-down airships, I think? An airship is basically just a passenger ship - like, the water kind [thanks elliot you're helpful] - that flies.
[He isn't even going to try to explain orbal energy. Because it's basically "magic, except also science." And good luck making sense of that.]
no subject
Nah, that's still small if ya ask me. I'm talkin'... I dunno, cause I ain't got one, but I'm pretty sure the places that do're like the size'a cars.
[ Then again, his "cell phone" weighs about 8 pounds, to give you an idea... ]
Damn, that sounds kinda rad. Planes're a pain in the ass if ya ask me. If we could make boats fly, now that'd be fuckin' awesome!
no subject
...Woah. [That actually makes him balk a little.] Then again... cars also aren't really that common where I'm from? Like, yeah, they're around, but I think they're pretty expensive. Most people get around on foot or by train.
Ehehe, yeah, they're pretty great! I spent a good chunk of last year flying around on this state-of-the-art one with my classmates. The Courageous was awesome. I mean, we kinda had to give it back to the prince once the war was over, buuut...
no subject
[ I mean, compared to 1980's Japan, I guess.... ]
Woah, ya knew a prince an' everythin'? Ya live some kinda glamorous life back home, or what?
no subject
[Weird steampunk 1980s fantasy hybrid. Because why not. Trails!]
Ahaha... I wouldn't say glamorous! Kind of a wild ride, but not glamorous. I'm just a student, like I said.
The prince was on the board of directors for our school and had a vested interest in our class specifically. We were kind of supposed to be a test run for some big thing he was planning. When the civil war broke out, he was over in the west trying to calm things down and we were in the east trying to do the same thing... so he handed over the ship so we could actually, y'know, do something and not just be a bunch of kids with swords against the provincial armies.
Doesn't take much to figure out how that woulda ended.
no subject
Ya had a prince and ya were on some kinda royal mission? That ain't normal, small fry!
[ It's exciting. ]
no subject
I mean, it's not like any of us *asked* to be a part of all of that! [At least, he didn't!] It's just... I mean, look at it this way.
If all of a sudden, your Sotenbori got overrun with a bunch of tanks and soldiers, wouldn't you wanna do anything you could to take it back?
no subject
[ He chuckles. ]
I mean, fuck yeah, I'd wanna take the fight to the streets! I'm just surprised a kid yer age was gettin' involved in that shit.
no subject
Well, I mean. My options were kinda get involved, or keep hiding in a windmill until the provincial army eventually found and arrested us. And getting involved meant joining back up with my best friend, so yeah, I wasn't about to say no.
no subject
[ I mean, okay, he likes war between Yakuza clans. But not wars between countries, that's bad. ]
So ya signed up fer the war effort even at yer age? Damn, guess maybe ya ain't suck a damn weaklin' after all. Takes balls ta go bat fer yer country, kid.
no subject
Yeah, guess that's true enough.
It wasn't really like we "signed up" or anything, though. We were trying really hard not to side with the Imperial Army or the Noble Faction... be a "third way," so to speak. Just helping people out where we could and trying to take back our school and the town.
