Week 7

Sunday - Thursday

With the loss of two more warriors, the castle has grown even quieter still. Such a thing was always bound to become a consequence of your stay here, though the actual reality of it may be more unpleasant. There's been little in the way of parties, which isn't too much of a surprise given your dwindling numbers, but it's still better than nothing, correct?

As with every other week, new locations have been unveiled for you all to either explore or use to casually gather within. If you've been keeping an eye on the cherry blossoms, you'll note that they look just about ready to bloom. The important thing is, of course, that they haven't. But it's only a matter of time, now.

We originally teamed up by an accident, but... As it turns out, my information network was useful to him for tracking down killers, and in exchange I got my scoop!

...Then again, I'm not sure if I can call it that anymore. I can't just write about everything that happened...

You're takin' care of those kids now, huh?

Sort of.

Our work is to give them an opportunity. To give them the freedom to pursue normal lives... as well as give them an example to live by.

Whether or not they're able to follow it depends on them.

[maddogs]

It's hard, sometimes, for kids ta see what you're doin' for them.

Sometimes. Luckily...

In our case, all eyes are on Ayumu. None of them trusted him at first - how could they? When things got tough, it was so much easier for him to run away.

But after we tracked them down, and after we faced each and every one of them... After Ayumu announced that he would help them...

It may sound presumptuous, but I think that really did bring them some peace. And after lives like theirs, knowing... no, being encouraged to have peaceful lives from someone who had seen and struggled along with them to save them really proved it was possible.

It wasn't just some far off dream for them anymore.

Narumi-kun lived like they did, before?

[She shakes her head.]

Not exactly. But his family life hasn't been good to him, either.

He never had to live a life of murder, but he knows what it's like to be oppressed.

[Which probably explains his profile a bit.]

The world's a harsh place for a lot of people.

[ he's not being dismissive, but like he feels for him. ]

...That's the most I'll say on it, though. If he wants to tell you, Ayumu can explain the rest.

[She's already likely said too much.]

[ he nods - both that he understands and he thinks its good of her to stop there. ]

You're a good friend ta him.

[He's not that far away from this conversation, so of course he hears it-- and appreciates her stopping before going into detail.

It wasn't exactly something he wanted to broadcast, after all.]

They've more than earned their chance at a better life. I just want to give them the opportunity to take that chance for all it's worth, that's all.
