week 7
Week 7
Sunday - Thursday
With the loss of two more warriors, the castle has grown even quieter still. Such a thing was always bound to become a consequence of your stay here, though the actual reality of it may be more unpleasant. There's been little in the way of parties, which isn't too much of a surprise given your dwindling numbers, but it's still better than nothing, correct?
As with every other week, new locations have been unveiled for you all to either explore or use to casually gather within. If you've been keeping an eye on the cherry blossoms, you'll note that they look just about ready to bloom. The important thing is, of course, that they haven't. But it's only a matter of time, now.

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)

[It's a soft grumble. Still, she doesn't move, allowing him to practically snuggle into her shoulder.]
If you're that grateful, give me a second favor.
no subject
[A little painful, but easy. He says this even though he knows she wouldn't remember it, either. Brat.]
Alright, sure. As long as I get to keep warm.
no subject
[Rude. But still, he's giving her yet another favor to call upon, and that speaks multitudes - of how sleepy he is, and also how foolish he is in such a state.
She keeps her voice quiet.]
Since I have two now, I'll use one of them up: you have to promise me you won't die. No matter what happens.
no subject
I thought the caveat was 'As long as it's something I can do'. Last I checked, no one was immortal.
no subject
As he pulls away, she tilts her head to look at him properly, voice still soft.]
Then you mustn't let yourself die. You can't give up on yourself.
No matter what.
[...She knows. She knows, they're running out of people, she knows people are going to start to think... If the conditions are fulfilled, they'll finally be free of this place for once and for all.
She also knows how Ayumu would likely react were anything to happen to her.]
no subject
....I won't let myself die. But you have to promise the same. No sacrifices... no... just promise me.
[Giving up on himself..... if she were to die, he couldn't promise that he'd have the strength. But he could at least promise to not let himself die.
His life still had value to others, short as it was.]

[That much, she can say with confidence. They both spoke of their obligations in detail in front of the others, and she intends to keep to it no matter how long this lasts.
She told Kanon Hilbert she would smile until the end, even as despair inched closer and closer. What better time to prove it than now, where despair seems to surround them, threatening to swallow them up...?]
no subject
[He smiles softly, though it doesn't reach his eyes. He was tired, it was true-- but that was a state of existence he'd have to get used to if he planned to make a difference. He'd keep going as far as he could go.]
Because anything I do here, you'll be right there with me, right?
no subject
[She smiles back, if faintly.]
So... is that a promise?
no subject
[His smile grows, just a little, tiny bit.]
It's a promise.
no subject
[It's only fair, after all that. And with those words off her chest, she releases a breath, settling down once again in their shared bed.]
no subject
[Ayumu sits there, staring down at her for a moment in hesitation. Should he get up? Should he stay?
He's not sure, but he wants to stay, even if the comfort of the moment has been altered. After a moment of consideration, he lays back down in the bankets next to her.]
no subject
Hm? You aren't sleepy anymore?
no subject
[He hesitates a moment longer before closing his eyes with a sigh.]
Hopefully I can get back to sleep. I was all warm and comfortable, too....
[Hahaha what a joke.]
no subject
Just when I think you've gotten a little more mature...
[THERE IS A VERY LONG-SUFFERING SIGH BEFORE SHE--
Wraps. Her own arm over him?? Arranging the blanket just so and pulling him close again.]
no subject
...He doesn't pull away, though. Instead after a moment, he tucks one arm over her, shifting a little closer before tucking his cheek firmly against the pillow to hide the slight flush to his cheeks.]
And what is that supposed to mean?
no subject
It means you're still a child.
[Obviously. And with one last sigh, she shuts both her eyes, apparently settling down to sleep again.]
no subject
Or maybe he just wanted to sink back into the quiet comfort of being so close to her. He tucks his arm more firmly around her, closing his eyes with a soft breath.]
