week 7

Week 7
Sunday - Thursday

With the loss of two more warriors, the castle has grown even quieter still. Such a thing was always bound to become a consequence of your stay here, though the actual reality of it may be more unpleasant. There's been little in the way of parties, which isn't too much of a surprise given your dwindling numbers, but it's still better than nothing, correct?

As with every other week, new locations have been unveiled for you all to either explore or use to casually gather within. If you've been keeping an eye on the cherry blossoms, you'll note that they look just about ready to bloom. The important thing is, of course, that they haven't. But it's only a matter of time, now.

SURVIVING WARRIORS: 12

SUNDAY | MONDAY | TUESDAY | WEDNESDAY | THURSDAY

(OOC: Welcome to Week 7 of Ukimiya! Feel free to comment to the weekly top levels and thread as you like, and redeem coins at the wishing pool.

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)

[That gets her to laugh.]

They're not idiots, but... they are incredibly set in their ways and their own values. They're quite hierarchal in that way... unless you've earned respect, it's not given to you.

[A pause.]

It's not how ordinary people think really.

I know - but it does feel that way sometimes with how bloody single-minded they can get.

[She makes a noncommittal noise at that.]

Sometimes it works out.... others it doesn't.

[A sigh.]

Unrelated to them, however... I'd like to ask your opinion on the matter of the spy. I hate to be callous, but I'll be straightforward. I fully expected to see Kizakura-san dead this morning. We both know that mercy is not a trait that's regularly exercised by our captors, so why is that do you think?

Either Kizakura isn't the real spy, so it's to their advantage that we're focusing on the wrong person - seems unlikely.

[And he likes both Kizakura and Hiyono]

Or the plan was to kill him, but Mahiro did discover something that The Sage did not want us to know, and if he killed Mahiro to silence him, they can't kill Kizakura, because then there's too much a chance they'll have less than nine survivors in the event of a double murder or accident.

[Georik pursed his lips, mulling over the possibilities]

The third, and the least likely option is that he somehow has information they need, but can't get from anyone or anything else.

[She contemplates Georik's words carefully.]

Your second thought strikes me as plausible, but less likely. After all, they can raise people from the dead or intervene to prevent a double murder should they care enough about having nine warriors for the ritual. The third option is intriguing, but I can't really imagine what that information would be.

[She frowns.]

As for your first theory, I suppose... scapegoating wouldn't exactly be a novel concept to the Sage to detract attention away from the real informant. That's certainly a possibility that shouldn't be overlooked - especially considering the Sage must've known that the note Mahiro-kun initially found about the spy exists. It'd be .a clever way of getting us to lower our guards. If he promised Kizakura-san safety in exchange for taking the fall....

Or perhaps there's nothing to it and their hope was simply that one of us would take action and murder him. We are getting close to the end of the week, after all.

Intriguing, but unlikely - it seems implausible any information gathered would not somehow find it's way to either one of them eventually - so yes, it's most likely Kizakura is acting as bait, either for the real spy, or for murder - though it means somehow they managed to fool whatever means the dead has for seeing... which leads us to ask how exactly they are seeing what we can't.

[He had been keeping quiet for the most part in the last few meetings after getting into an almost screaming match with Nishitani, it just wasn't worth the stress, but he had been listening]
