Week 7

Sunday - Thursday

With the loss of two more warriors, the castle has grown even quieter still. Such a thing was always bound to become a consequence of your stay here, though the actual reality of it may be more unpleasant. There's been little in the way of parties, which isn't too much of a surprise given your dwindling numbers, but it's still better than nothing, correct?

As with every other week, new locations have been unveiled for you all to either explore or use to casually gather within. If you've been keeping an eye on the cherry blossoms, you'll note that they look just about ready to bloom. The important thing is, of course, that they haven't. But it's only a matter of time, now.

[ closer to evening / night, majima shows up. somehow he ended up more cut up than kizakura, but it's fine. he comes in, with a bottle of beer in whiskey in his hand, and closes the door. he sets the bottle down next to him. ]

[...this isn't what he expected, seeing both the whisky bottle and that Majima looks worse for wear than him. It's...odd in some way]

Good! I have been without a drop for too long already.

[Kizakura takes the bottle and takes a big swig from it, this is great]

So what happened to you now?

[He almost asks if Nishitani got to him, but then realizes that would be normal]

[maddogs]

[ majima laughs ]

Jus' a fight. Nishitani needed ta blow off some steam. He really wanted one of your fingers, ya know? That's usually how it is in the Yakuza anyway. Although...

[ his normally childish, jovial manner kind of falls aside. ]

It's death, if you betray your family. Takin' pinkies is only for the small shit.

[ in case there was any question though, he waives his hand dismissively. ]

I ain't here ta kill ya, Kizakura-han. I'm just tellin' ya ya got off easy when Nishitani was here.

[Kizakura sighs]

I'm aware of that. Nishitani-san's a fearsome guy, nobody'd want to find himself on his bad side like I did. [Except you, Majima, but that's not a secret to anyone, look at how you look right now]

Besides, it's not like I expected a savior earlier. Teishu-san appearing out of nowhere was... [He won't deny he was grateful for that, but it's not something he thought would happen] ...I'm not sure if it's good or not he got involved in that.

[maddogs]

Nishitani mentioned that. It's fuckin' good for ya, that's for sure! Teishu's probably the only person other than me who coulda told him ta stop.

[ on the other hand. ]

Gotta say though, it's surprisin' Teishu came ta help ya an' not your buddy the Sage. You'd think he'd have a vested interest in savin' his assets. Though maybe it's true about Emperor-han - if ya cross him he kills ya.

[Kizakura raises his eyebrows]

You really think someone who willing to cheat at his own game would care about anyone? That guy's only good for executing people in trials and for breaking rules. He doesn't care about anything else.

I thought after the mess last Saturday that much was obvious.

[maddogs]

Shit, sometimes civilians really do have fuck all for honor.

[ he shakes his head, chiding. ]

Ya shouldn't talk about him like that. You're only puttin' more nails in the coffin.

[Kizakura shakes his head, tired]

I know. [He's been so frustrated with the Sage for a while it's starting to seep out] Sorry, I guess it must be stupid to hear something like that coming from me. I got myself in this mess, I don't have the right to complain.

[maddogs]

Little bit.

[ but you know majimas not even obviously armed (maybe in his zipped up parka hiding his pendant?? ) but he's not threatening him. He even brought him booze. So for all he might agree it's stupid, he's obviously not giving him any negative reception here.

He takes out a pad of paper. ]

why did he help you?

[Kizakura stares at the paper for a moment and nods, taking it and writing a few words

He has his own reasons. He knows what he's doing. I don't have exact details.

Maybe talking about a different matter can distract someone listening through the pendants]

Besides, I'm more puzzled about other details, like how I think the other side, or at least the Emperor, can see more than just the trials. There was something in those messages the dead sent long ago that mentioned something that happened weeks ago in the Great Hall.

Could have been a coincidence...or maybe it isn't.

[maddogs]

[ if kizakura's pendant is still outside his clothes, majima's going to reach over and tuck it into his shirt. or attempt to, anyway.

I guess it could jus' be people dyin' an' reportin' on the news...or they're findin' more rooms the way we did.

It's not like someone should have known, it was more like a one-on-one conversation between Yuizaki-chan and me. I guess it's possible someone was eavesdropping, but it's still a bit of a random thing to pay attention to, you know? Tarot readings don't attract that much attention

Ah, I see. Then I guess they must be gettin' better on seein' us!

['Already made arrangements in case I die'. He's not lying, Hanyuu and Misora are his failsafes, even if neither of them realizes it. 'Can't speak while alive. Could ruin it']

In that case, they mmay already know why Mahiro-kun died, and where he tried to go. Did he try to get into the archives again?

they can only read notes through your pendant. if it's hidden, writing it wont be a problem.

[ but he's starting to look pretty agitated none the less. ]

No. I'm not sure where he went.

[ there hasn't been a meeting to share the findings, so he'll have to ask misora or ayumu. ]

Ya got any idea why his boyd wasn't left behind?

[Huh. Now that's something he wasn't aware of. In that case...

I don't know many details. Teishu knows what he's doing. I got important object, not sure if Sage knows. Hid it. Not telling where. Could be useful at some point

Emperor was the spy of his group, in case you don't know that. Listening to him may be risky but a good idea.]

I don't know, honestly. Maybe they need it for something, but I don't know why Mahiro would be different from the rest.

Hn, I guess so.

[ majima stands up, looking over at the door. ]

Ya expectin' any other company?

Nobody. That door's supposed to be locked for all night, both for my safety and for peace of mind for all of you.

You take care. This is the final stretch, with some luck it'll all end well for everyone here.

[...as well as it can end with two dead bodies, but hey, if there's no hidden trap in this whole game and the nine survivors really live, then great!]

I'll tell Nishitani not ta kill ya in your sleep, at the very least. He'd do ya durin' the daytime.

That's not as much of a consolation as it sounds at first.

[Yeah, he's smirking. He's pretty sure Nishitani would prefer him to be wide awake anyway]
