Week 2

Friday's harrowing events are clear in the minds of many—first and foremost, the death of Rika Furude, and of course the reveal and subsequent "sentencing" of Asch the Bloody. It also serves well as a reminder to everyone that the gloves are off, there won't be an easy way out for anyone and it is unlikely that there will be an option to 'wait it out' in the hopes of not participating in this 'game'. Or, as The Sage and The Teishu put it:

The Challenge.

Despite how you felt about the trial, it's likely that some rest would be welcome after all that transpired. Fortunately, some of your fellow warriors have taken it upon themselves to provide a reprieve of sorts, if you'd rather not be alone.

As if the events of the trial are supposed to be nothing but routine, dawns comes once more Sunday morning, punctuated with the sound of the rooster crowing obnoxiously. Any light sleepers hoping for their rest to not be disturbed may find themselves disappointed. Though, if anyone should wish, they may feel free to try to fall back asleep.

But, maybe that time can be better spent wandering. It seems that some places may have mysteriously unveiled themselves. It might do well to check them out. Or not. How anyone chooses to spend their time is ultimately up to them.

...I'll admit: when people began receiving things, I thought perhaps this was designed to help us procure what we would need to commit acts of violence.

But much of what we received seems fairly useless.

Yes. My clan used to use a form of them in combat. They're very difficult to wield, though, thanks to how heavy they are.

In any case: I find it amusing our host decided to choose that pendant, among all the things he could have chosen.

Not typically, no. You usually have to use both hands, and be very precise with your swinging, just because there is no grip on the handle.

[ of course the oni were the exception, thanks to...super strength i guess? hanyuu can use it one-handed ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ ]

But it proved useful for making an enemy stay down once they were hit--multiple blades on one sword, you see?

It would be awful if it had only given us weapons and other items one can use for violence ...

[ can you imagine how many swords and such would be wandering around. not that ... it's stopped anyone okay now everything is sad again ]

Let's hope none are tempted with items they do receive.

I see. So in order to use this particular weapon one must be very skilled at swordsmanship and well built.

[ unless you're hanyuu omg?? no one from natalia's world would likely be able to use it easily if at all. ]

Hmm. Indeed. Attempting to cure a wound from a blade like this would prove to be very difficult, if impossible. I imagine it meant certain death for many of your foes.

Not at me. Though it wasn't pleasant watching multiple of them launch into the sky at all. I was afraid that one would land on me.

What a fine idea! Even if we don't tell him surely he might spot them the next time he is cooking?

[Carrying coconuts is easy, it shouldn't take long for Kizakura to help. Once all the coconuts are in the kitchen, he takes one, shaking it to listen inside]

Ah, perfect. Someone in here must know what to do with these. But for that first we need to break these open. [He turns to Natalia] Got a plan for that?

Usually? By being unlucky enough to trigger an allergy attack. It's as unpleasant as it sounds. [He looks at her with curiosity] You know, it sounds like you had never heard of this concept before. Are you not human, like Eizen-kun?

My, how wonderful! If you procure a violin here you must play something for me, alright?

Perhaps not, but it is still a weapon that can be of some use at close range. Even if you are simply use it for defense rather than offense. Unfortunately though, that's all I can suggest. I'm quite skill with archery but I have no knowledge of any other weapons.

Huh, you didn't have laundry machines at home? [ yeah, miyamura's just gonna toss his clothes on the ground and think about doing them... eventually. ]

I dunno though. It's not that bad, is it? The breeze is kinda nice. [ because you don't have to wear pants underneath the robes and all. ] Girls have it good.

I'm certain one of the fine cooks we have here would know! But ... ah. I do not know how to open a Coconut.

If it was planted in some way, it'd make more sense for the contents to be clear instead of some ambiguous note. But the fact that they're not trying to confiscate it probably means it either benefits them to have us know this or they're just indifferent.

[He'll move to pick up the book and flip through the pages thoughtfully.]

Anyways, if no one else wants it, I'll take care of it for now. Feel free to grab it from my room if I die.

Who knows, but I'd assume they eventually decided on an amount they like. Then they'd just start with that amount each time or something. What do you usually like, Senhime-san?

[On the other hand, everyone having ways to defend themselves might keep would-be killers from going after people... a dilemma.]

It would take considerable skill to kill with a tiny musical instrument or a stick of dumplings, at any rate. I doubt anyone here is up to the task, so we should be safe.

Indeed. The only thing I can imagine one doing is poisoning the dumplings but .. they've have to get their hands on it first.

[And he'd probably do it in the bluntest way possible but. As long as Sen keeps an eye out, he's fine with that never coming to pass.]

Mnn. [That's... agreement, maybe? Who knows, really.] If you've got nails like you do, maybe, but... [He does not.] It'd probably be better with a little bow, but even then that'd just be unwieldy.
