Week 6

Sunday - Thursday

Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.

There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.

Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

I'll listen. Seriously, I promise you even if the Sage offers me a way to kill an immortal, I won't hurt anyone here. And I'm really good at not dying too. Remember, my profile even says I'm good at getting out of trouble.

[It also says he's good at getting into trouble, but we'll just pretend that isn't a thing right now.]

[She shifts ever-so-slightly at those words, to kill an immortal; but she doesn't let him go, either. She's comfortable like this, as content as she ever gets to be here in the arms of a friend.]

You mean it? You promise? [There's an urgency to her voice too now, though, now that he's touched on her greatest concern here.] You promise you won't leave me all alone?

[Well, he knows full well if such a motive happened he'd be the obvious suspect with him not exactly keeping quiet about the crazy shit with immortals he deals with.]

I promise. And I'm good at not dying too. Why I've narrowly avoided doom more times in the past few months before coming here than you got fingers and toes.

[Okay, he's exaggerating a bit, though only a bit.]

[presomnia]

That many? [She sounds faintly amused, even if it isn't quite laughter.] Will you tell me about those times?

[But—softer, clinging tighter to him:] Thank you, Jan-Jan.

Well, let's see I told you already about kidnapping Ming to avoid the Numaran army killing us. But uh, some of the others aren't too pleasant. Like a whole city being frozen or us narrowly escaping from a place about to explode.

[presomnia]

[Tiki finally pulls back out of the hug, sitting back down in the chair, and—theeere it is, now she's smiling, even if it's slight.]

They must have happy endings, though, if you're still here.

Well the a...awful person who did it is still around. [Why yes, he was so about to say a stronger word and stopped himself from swearing in front of Tiki.] But yeah, so am I and I'm good at not dying and plan to keep being that way.
