Week 6

Sunday - Thursday

Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.

There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.

Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

[Early on Monday morning, all residents will find a piece of handwritten paper slipped under their doors. It reads the following:

This journalist has come across some amazing news! One person here has a SE ♥ CRET crush on someone else! Unfortunately, this journalist was also asked not to name any names. It might be helpful to start compiling a list of all we've discovered-- perhaps one posted in public. Emperor . . . I wonder if it's another captive of the Sage.

Depends if ya wanna keep it fuckin' secret or not. They can see through the pendants if they feel like it, so postin' a public list's jus' invitin' them ta read it. Nevermind it's their fuckin' castle and they can walk around an' check it if they want.

Yeah, guess the resta the guys ain't said anythin', but last Thursday we got a visit from Water-kun in the bathhouse! Cept apparently his name's Emperor. Or maybe he's an emperor? I ain't super sure.

[ Shrugs?? ]

Anyway, he's stuck wherever the rest of the dead people go, but he's the one who can talk through the water. They're like ghosts or some shit, I'm guessin'. Turns out the sakura tree's more of a timer, when it blooms, they think they're all gonna disappear. He says he mighta left somethin' here that we can use ta stop that and stop the person causin' it, but so far I looked around and all I seen is some pearl that looked like it mighta been on an earring, or a pendant or some shit.

He said to stop - but nothing else after, I assume he means 'stop killing' or 'stop the sage'.

And the fact he suddenly mention people missing their powers, I wonder if he had something in mind.

Why not both, eh? Stop killin'. Stop the Sage. He's the one keepin' people's powers locked up.

He ain't said anything we don't fuckin' already know.

INVESTIGATION

[irrationalities]

Bedroom Hallway.

[He's bypassed this hallway dozens of times by now, but before this he never much paid attention to the corner between the two hallways. Is that a small gap there...?]

Armory.

[Like many others, the glint of the weapons catches his eye enough for him to wander inside the room and browse the selection. However, he makes no move to pick up anything; what would be the point in grabbing another weapon, after all? In any case, if someone else comes in, he'll speak up.]

Guess the Sage decided to finally stop playing around. You'd think this would've been one of the first rooms to open up if he wanted to make it easy to kill, though.

[It seems a little weird doing it this late when their numbers have already been slashed to less than half.]

Alchemy Lab.

[He has walked past this room several times today already but. Perhaps it's the slant of the light through the windows, perhaps it's something else, but something makes him pause and linger this time. Mahiro ends up hanging by the doorway for who knows how long before he finally steps in, grabs one of the flimsy notebooks off the shelf and just idly flips through it. But it honestly doesn't look like he's absorbing any of what he's reading, if the speed at which he's going through it says anything.

Feel free to find him doing that or when he's obstructing the doorway??]

I guess he wanted people to get creative. Everything can be lethal if you know how to use it.

As part of the 'test'? [Not necessarily a bad point, but.]

It makes him look like he's getting impatient, then.

There are only fourteen of us left. Five or six more need to die, with everything being so close to the end maybe he wants us to grab a sword and go on a killing spree as soon as possible. Not all of us can have submachine guns to do that, after all.

[Nonchalant as always. He also doesn't seem particularly bothered by Mahiro's executioner role last time, but he's just that good hiding how nervous he feels about that]

[ because it looks like hes not reading those notebooks. ]

[He looks up rather sharply when he hears Majima call out. He doesn't look too surprised if his expression's anything to go by, but for a second his posture's a bit stiff and it pretty clear that Mahiro's been caught off guard. Still, he relaxes soon enough and he stops aimlessly going through the notes.]

...Just thinking about fireworks.

[The notebook he has definitely has nothing to do with fireworks though, uh.]

[ It is! It's super small though. Are you just going to watch it for a while, or? ]

[Hmm, well first he'll try putting his hand out in front of it, I guess? Can he feel any directional airflow there?]

[For reasons that are soon going to become obvious, Rosalind waits for nightfall for this conversation to occur. It isn't until everyone settles in that she says:]

I discovered a rather interesting tidbit about our dear friend the Teishu today.

[She's not actually looking over at them, but staring up at the ceiling. It's nice, having a bed to herself.]

Namely, he's not all that interested in the prevention of pregnancy.

[How's that for a midnight topic of conversation.]

How the fuck did that become a topic of conversation?

[ majima's tone is a little cool. he's flopped out on top of nishitani, they're both on top of a mattress that they apparently finally dragged in here. ]

[buddyoldpal]

[ Some nights Nishitani just wants a good cuddle before he sleeps. Maybe. Either way, he didn't have a lot planned, much less a midnight chat, but he does wrap his arm around Majima's waist and give him a good cuddle since he's there. ]

Shit, don't tell me he don't got condoms? Knew I shoulda asked Sage-chan when I had the chance.
