Week 6

Sunday - Thursday

Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.

There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.

Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

[That's absolutely for the italicized ritual, which honestly throws her more than Majima's question. She falls back down on the bed, scowling at the ceiling, grateful that it's dark.]

And don't make it sound filthy. It wouldn't be a bloody ritual, I simply-- it's simply that I tend to want to distract myself most after those things, as does everyone else, I presume. But it isn't as if that's the only time or place I'd allow it.

[Nope, now she's up again, scowling down at the two of them. It's not as if she can see a whole lot, but on the other hand, it's not really hard to guess what's happening.]

Simply because we've slept together does not grant you two permission to start feeling each other up in my presence.

[ majima puts his hands up in surrender, not that she can see that either, but, ok ]

[ Nishitani plays the same game, holding his hands above his head like he's being searched. He chuckles, though. Since he's an asshole. ]

[Oh. That was easy. Easier than she expected, actually, and Rosalind blinks, taken aback but certainly pleased.]

Glad you realize it.

[Damn right, she does not say, but it's fairly clear in her tone. And it's amazing, really, how quick she can go from flustered to self-satisfied; it's a talent, clearly.]

In any case: it seems particularly unfair to start that when we still haven't solved our current problem.

[ "that's kind of between you and nishitani" is what majima almost says, but his tact is slightly better than that. ]

It's like this whole other side of ya I get ta see now. How've ya been surivin' these last few weeks?

Rest assured it's much less anything to do with you or any appendage of yours, Nishitani, and much more to do with the fact it's been five weeks.

[And dang, that's a long time when you're used to a certain standard. Do you know how long you have to wait for an opportunity to have sex when you're an immortal being outside of time? You don't have to wait at all, this is the worst.]

But self-control is a skill, one I've had three decades to pick up. I used to live in a religious hellscape; you quickly learned how to keep your thoughts to yourself.

I can't imagine living like that. There's not a bit of my life that I don't keep a tight leash on.

[ majima laughs - both at her metaphor and the idea ]

[Forget continuously rising to her elbows; now Ros is simply sitting up. She can't see them too well, but whatever, it's the principle of it.]

Eh, it was like Nishitani said. Someone else held my leash back then. Weird fuckin' time.

[Mm, probably best not to ask. Those two statements, combined with what they've both told her, are enough to paint a rough picture, and she won't ruin things by asking for the gritty details.

I suppose each way-- tightly wound and not, I mean-- has advantages. It's easier to command obedience, if not respect, the way I do things . . . but yours certainly sounds more fun.

Ah! Haven't we told ya? Nishitani an' I have the biggest families in our clans.

[ shes absolutely welcome to ask him, though. for all nishitani doesn't want majima "to be sad" its pretty much his normal state and now that theyve all fucked, he's happy to share.

[ Nishitani is almost tempted to correct Majima with "had". Nishitani had the biggest family. But he won't be that guy. ]

You're going to have to explain the hierarchies a bit, I'm afraid.

[She's informed about an awful lot of things, but not this.]

What's the difference between a family and a clan? You told me you were the chairman of the . . . Kijin clan, wasn't it?

Ah, it's kinda just technical terms I guess. Kijin's part of the Omi Alliance which is an organization about the size of the Tojo Clan, which the Majima family's a subsidiary of. Omi is in Kansai while the Tojo Clan is up in Tokyo. I wasn't in any family when I met Nishitani, though.

Yeah, 'xactly! Clans an' families are different based on how they get started, mostly. Like, my boys were a clan 'cause I liked the sounda it more, ya know?

[ Is that really all...? Probably, tbh. ]
