week 6

Week 6
Sunday - Thursday

Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.

There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.

Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

Ya wouldn't believe it from lookin' at 'im, huh? He was always real sad back then.

[ aka: don't ask, probably. ]
originallutece: awful tough lately (talk; you've been acting)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-06 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
[Mm, probably best not to ask. Those two statements, combined with what they've both told her, are enough to paint a rough picture, and she won't ruin things by asking for the gritty details.

So, instead:]

A slight difference between us, I suspect. Your circumstances sound less than ideal; I purposely created mine.

I suppose each way-- tightly wound and not, I mean-- has advantages. It's easier to command obedience, if not respect, the way I do things . . . but yours certainly sounds more fun.
maddogs: (nothing on me)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-06 04:36 am (UTC)(link)
Ah! Haven't we told ya? Nishitani an' I have the biggest families in our clans.

[ shes absolutely welcome to ask him, though. for all nishitani doesn't want majima "to be sad" its pretty much his normal state and now that theyve all fucked, he's happy to share.
buddyoldpal: (11)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-06 05:05 am (UTC)(link)
[ Nishitani is almost tempted to correct Majima with "had". Nishitani had the biggest family. But he won't be that guy. ]

What can I say, dudes just fall ta their feet ta join families like ours!
originallutece: in the friscalating dusklight (talk; and they rode on)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-06 05:30 am (UTC)(link)
You're going to have to explain the hierarchies a bit, I'm afraid.

[She's informed about an awful lot of things, but not this.]

What's the difference between a family and a clan? You told me you were the chairman of the . . . Kijin clan, wasn't it?
maddogs: (i tip the driver 'head of time)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-06 05:48 am (UTC)(link)
Ah, it's kinda just technical terms I guess. Kijin's part of the Omi Alliance which is an organization about the size of the Tojo Clan, which the Majima family's a subsidiary of. Omi is in Kansai while the Tojo Clan is up in Tokyo. I wasn't in any family when I met Nishitani, though.
buddyoldpal: (09)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-06 05:54 am (UTC)(link)
Yeah, 'xactly! Clans an' families are different based on how they get started, mostly. Like, my boys were a clan 'cause I liked the sounda it more, ya know?

[ Is that really all...? Probably, tbh. ]
originallutece: my alignment and also the name of my band (neutral; true neutral)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-06 06:10 am (UTC)(link)
[where is the organization? the neatness? oh my god you can't just call things based on what you like most, this goes against her very nature

There's a bit of silence after that, as Rosalind categorizes that bit of information, but soon:]

But you eventually--

[Wait. That's not right, is it? It's not as if either of them have told her their life stories, but she's heard enough bits and pieces to know that isn't entirely correct.]

. . . why weren't you?
maddogs: (i got one foot out the door)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-06 04:08 pm (UTC)(link)
I told ya both they didn't want me to meet up with my brother on the hit, right? I disobeyed a direct order. [ he settles back down into nishitanis arms, soaking up the comfort there. it's a comfort he doesn't really feel he deserves but its just so warm and inviting can he really be blamed? ] But I didn't stop there. I fought Shibata's whole gang. 'cept...there was one dude left. Just one. I got everyone else. Told me ta apologize. But I wouldn't have ever apologized for tryin' ta be with Saejima.

[ he's quiet for a moment, and then there's a tonal shift. what he'd said just now had been serious. important. but when he speaks again, his tone is that same light I Definitely Dont Care About Anything tone he usually uses. ] Ah, that's when he cut my eye out. An' then they gave me back to my boss Shimano. [ majima laughs, cold and short ] He wasn't too happy about my behavior.

He kicked me out of the family an' erased my name from the books. I'd betrayed them, after all. Shimano-han tortured me for awhile an' then handed me to his oath brother, Sagawa, down in Sotenbori. Had to work like a civilian for a year. Be all straight laced an' shit.
buddyoldpal: (34)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-06 04:40 pm (UTC)(link)
Ya got set-up, asshole. Ya didn't betray shit.

[ Nishitani doesn't punch him, but he does pull him close and bite his ear. Don't dogs usually respond to this kind of treatment? Um. ]

Shimano's a fuckin' asshole, anyway. That fucker Shibata's the one who shoulda been down in the hole for that shit.
originallutece: blue steel gaze (talk; this is her best)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-06 05:53 pm (UTC)(link)
There's a marked difference.

[Oh, man, listen to how cold her voice has gotten. It's not that Rosalind ever really cares all that much about betrayal specifically, but she likes these boys, and that hits a sore spot with her.]

What happened to Shimano?
maddogs: (oh just the thought of you)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-06 05:56 pm (UTC)(link)
[ the ear biting does indeed work on majima, he settles down a little bit for all he was going to tell nishitani he was wrong. that set up or not, it was still a betrayal to go against his family's word. ]

He died. Everyone dies.
buddyoldpal: (41)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-06 07:53 pm (UTC)(link)
[ Nishitani's included in that sentiment, he knows that much, so he can't deny the pervasive amount of death that follows Majima around. It's gotta suck, being the one left behind. Nishitani knows as much. ]

Least ya got Kiryu an' yer bro, yeah? Sounds like things're startin' ta look up, before ya got pulled here.
originallutece: I'M NEVER LETTING GO JACK (talk; putting out those titanic vibes)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-06 08:08 pm (UTC)(link)
Of course they do. But that isn't always such a bad thing.

[She offers that, and then adds after Nishitani:]

And given you and Saejima made it out of that . . . I should think that a very happy ending.
maddogs: (get me there fast)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-06 11:33 pm (UTC)(link)
[ majima shifts uncomfortably in nishitani's arms at rosalind's first comment, but doesn't say anything about it. shimano was still his boss. he'd still chosen to be in his family. he's looked up to him and had admired him. that never really went away, no matter how awful shimano was to him while he was alive.

but they're both right -- he's got saejima back. ]

Yeah, that's true! I guess it's still kinda weird for me, ya know? I spent so long checkin' the paper every day ta see if he'd been executed, it still doesn't feel real.

[ not that it matters now, when he's certain he's going to die. ]
buddyoldpal: (11)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-07 12:07 am (UTC)(link)
[ Hey, at least they're gonna go out with a bang, having fun. ]

Ain't all bad shit, eh? Sometimes ya get lucky.

[ And, even though Ros said not to, Nishitani gropes Majima just a little because come on. ]
originallutece: (talk; hmm--?)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-07 01:08 am (UTC)(link)
[This may simply be inevitable.]

In more ways than one.

There's only fourteen left, now.

[It's not that she's delusional, or even optimistic. But there's only five people left to die, and she's starting to think that perhaps there's a chance they might just make it out alive.]
maddogs: (theres nothing i wouldnt do)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-07 01:12 am (UTC)(link)
A-ah...Nishitani!

[ now??? of all times?? hes busy contemplating death ]

Could start takin' bets, if ya want.
buddyoldpal: (06)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-07 06:18 am (UTC)(link)
[ Nishitani bats his eyelashes, looking completely guilty -- I mean, innocent. ]

Who d'ya think is gonna bite it this week? My bet's on more kids killin' kids. We got enough shit ta deal with at our age, who the fuck's got time ta kill over some dumb fuckin' secret?
originallutece: AND WHAT A SHIT OPINION IT IS (talk; that's like your opinion man)

[personal profile] originallutece 2017-09-07 06:33 am (UTC)(link)
[This is slightly sickening, but . . .]

Mahiro, I think. Nothing to do with the motive, everything to do with the fact he has a short temper and there's only a few left. I imagine he'll attack to prevent himself from being one of the five killed.

[Which, frankly, isn't such a bad plan.]
maddogs: (cause i gotta leave yeah)

[personal profile] maddogs 2017-09-08 04:32 am (UTC)(link)
Guess that makes sense.
buddyoldpal: (13)

[personal profile] buddyoldpal 2017-09-08 04:42 am (UTC)(link)
Zero-chan didn't wind up killin' nobody after she tried ta off Rhoda-chan, though. He mighta had enough with just that, who knows?

[ Some people don't kill again. Some people kill again... a lot. ]
