Week 6

Sunday - Thursday

Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.

There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.

Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

[ So the rest of the stuff he's gotten is pretty normal. Getting another box of cigarettes? That's sweet. Getting a whip? Useful for certain things, you know. Getting a fucking bear trap, though, that's... ridiculous. And you know Nishitani is enough of an asshole to consider using this thing. He's actually trying to work it open. ]

[ Nishitani's at the library, having a smoke. Please feel free to tell him smoking indoors isn't a thing. He's from the 80s. That aside, he's not wearing his usual suit. Instead, he's wearing his new jacket with a fuzzy collar, and he seems to be toying with the friendship bracelet while he turns the pages on his book. He's acting his age for once. How rare. Feel free to bother him, he's probably reading mermaid smut to be honest. ]

[ Nishitani laughs. Loudly. He really could get himself in some serious trouble, huh?? ]

Ehh, why not? We could prolly catch Sage-chan with it, huh?

Seriously, she looks more angry than anything, but it's an anger born from worry. That's kind of . . . nice? Maybe?]

Just set it in the trial room, I suppose. I'm not helping you if that thing bites off your hand.

Ooh, that ain't a bad plan! I wouldn't wanna get Teishu-kun stuck on it, though. I know he's a god, but he probably still feels pain, ya know?

[She glances around. There's nowhere to really lean, which is a shame, and with a sigh she makes do clasping her hands behind her back. A beat, and then she smiles faintly.]

I never told you one of the benefits to being scattered across the universes, did I? I could dodge any weapon. A man tried to shoot me point blank once, stupid thing that he was; I quite enjoyed informing him that he'd missed time and again.

[ Nishitani nods. Certainly, he's no happier about Teishu's problems than anyone else is. If it were up to him, they'd free the poor guy... ]

Daaamn, that's pretty fuckin' useful! Bein' immortal like that wouldn't be so bad, eh?

It's a state of being I'm deeply anxious to return to. Not just for the immortality, but the knowledge . . . there wasn't a thing I didn't know, and that isn't an exaggeration. Any time I wished to discover something, it was as easy as-- oh, looking something up in the library.

He ought to be. It was the ideal state of being-- and frankly, it ought to have been impossible for him to subvert it. But there'll be plenty of time to rub it in his face later on.

[She wrinkles her nose.]

I can appear moments before his own death. I can appear the moment he was born, or created, or whatever term you might want to use-- though that would be a foolish thing to do.
