Week 7

Sunday - Thursday

With the loss of two more warriors, the castle has grown even quieter still. Such a thing was always bound to become a consequence of your stay here, though the actual reality of it may be more unpleasant. There's been little in the way of parties, which isn't too much of a surprise given your dwindling numbers, but it's still better than nothing, correct?

As with every other week, new locations have been unveiled for you all to either explore or use to casually gather within. If you've been keeping an eye on the cherry blossoms, you'll note that they look just about ready to bloom. The important thing is, of course, that they haven't. But it's only a matter of time, now.

What'd Sage-chan offer ya? Somethin' nice back home or what?

[ It seems like the only thing to ask at this point tbh. He still doesn't sound convinced. ]

Unless, ya know, Miyamura-kun's fuckin' wrong. We don't know that they're all agreein' back there.

We don't know how Toranosuke-kun came to his conclusions.

But if Elliot was right in his interpretation of what Senhime-san said, then that'd be two people who believe it's Kizakura-san. Seems unlikely that they're both messing with him.

But that said.. I thought they were only capable of seeing what we do in the trial room. As far as I'm aware, Kizakura-san hasn't done anything strange during a trial.

Personally, I don't think it sounds like Kizakura-kun. But I ain't too big on callin' people out when there ain't shit we can do. This ain't the trial room, like ya said.

See, that's my thinkin' too. He don't got skills like Sen-chan.

He did work in Intelligence back home. We talked about this a while ago.

[She furrows her brow.]

But unless they can leave the trial room, I don't see how they have proof that it's Kizakura-san definitively.

...But they're all contained in the same place, aren't they?

What would stop the others from mentioning the meetings? That is... the newly dead.

If they're communicating with each other, it's possible they could know all of the significant details of the previous week.

That's true, but then we're all looking at the same pool of information, right? So what did they see that we haven't seen that led them to suspect Kizakura-san?

That's what I want to know.

They've also got more contact with the Emperor than we have, and they found out about a sword we never even thought about 'til now.

But it's reasonable to consider that they could've got stuff wrong. It comes down to how much we trust them and their ability to investigate shit.

[Still. He thinks Miyamura's pretty shrewd.]

The Emperor was one of the people who we were warned about, and have reason to believe is associated with madness. If he's their source, then I remain skeptical.

As it stands right now, I agree that they have better access to information about the Sage, the Teishu and the castle itself through the Emperor. But that doesn't mean the Emperor knows who the spy amongst us is, does it? If anything, you'd think the Sage would have warned our spy not to contact him if there was water near by.

Madness doesn't mean you can't make good points.

[Also, like Nishitani is also a diamond, so.]

No, but they could have other resources there that we just don't know about. They could've found something else incriminating there too.

[He doesn't see Sen as the kind who'd toss around accusations lightly, at the very least.]

[Kizakura looks away at Hiyono for a moment, but he returns his attention to Nishitani almost immediately]

Well I suppose they must have discussed it, right? But who knows if they all agreed to write the same stuff. Some may think one thing, others may think a completely different one.

[ Nishitani smiles. He's pretty sure he's right here, unless they're both spies, I mean that could happen too? ]

Don't seem like they're agreein' by the sound of it. My guess is they each wrote a different letter an' Emeperor-han bubbled 'em all out. I mean, shit, ya think anybody helped Tiki-chan write hers? No fuckin' way.

[Don't think Ayumu missed that look. He's giving the both of them a sharp look.]

There would be other indicators in that message if it was who you think it is, you know. Sen-chan would not have sent the message she did.

Sen-chan liked Sage-chan, yeah? She could be warnin' somebody who's awful close to 'im. Unless she suddenly took a shinin' to 'er from the dead, eh?

[ Who knows, maybe they have teams on that side and Sen is #TeamHiyono on top of being #TeamSage ]

[She catches that look too.]

...Kizakura-sensei... have you given into despair to the point of trying to pin the blame...?

[They've talked about this, haven't they? Keeping hope...]

...When I spoke with Sen-chan at that time, she told me that my first priority should be to make sure my information sources were people I trust. I've only called one of those meetings after an announcement, and I've never met with Sage-san in person.

[Kizakura passes his hand through his face again, cornered. This wasn't supposed to go like this! Why now?! Thanks a lot, dead people, he's so blaming all of you if anything goes wrong!

He gestures with urgency. The universal 'stop talking' gesture, the silence gesture, he points at his pendant, and he continues insisting all the while:]

I'm not the spy and I haven't spied for anyone! Seriously!

[And mouths, in case it wasn't clear already:

"Cut it out already, all of you! Don't ruin it!"]

Kizakura-san.

[He slides a piece of paper across the table, giving him a short look.]

Would you please list out the identities of people you think are the spy, then? I want to believe you, so we must go through all we know very carefully.

[Ayumu mouths something back: "Write down what you don't trust to speak aloud if you can".]

[Kizakura stares at the paper for a moment before facepalming]

For the love of--

[He mouths again "Shut up!"]

What if there's no traitor?

["Stop it!]

[irrationalities]

Yeah? And where's your reasoning on that?

[And his tone is provocative.

But he'll mouth, "What are we ruining?"]

Just because! Come on!

[You guys just don't get it! Silence! He'll find out!

He points at his pendant again.]

[Another sharp look.

"Can he see us as well as hear, then?"]

[fedorascout]

[Kizakura shakes his head]

Just--forget about that, all of you. The deceased are wrong. There's no spy. Okay? Okay.

[gyakusatsu]

[....And this is where Misora starts wondering if they're all going to be forced to watch an execution if they don't all shut the fuck up and pretend they don't know anything.

And frankly? Kiza is way more useful alive than dead.]

Look, we all believe you. Please relax, Kizakura-san.

[ Nishitani laughs. Like Majima's he's taken to carrying a piece of paper. ]

He's gonna kill ya, huh?

Yeah, we're all one big happy family, huh?

[Kizakura shrugs.

"Don't think so."

Would this whole mess be grounds for being killed? Most likely not. Maybe yes. He just doesn't know.]
