Week 6

Sunday - Thursday

Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.

There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.

Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

I have a few concerns about this motive, but nothing that would drive me to kill. It would still ruin everything back home if I gave in.

[Might as well be upfront about that much. She collects info, it's hard not to have some sensitive information in there.]

I haven't found a key, either.

Shrine
[Ayumu wasn't by any means religious and his world's 'God' wasn't exactly merciful, but considering what they knew of the castle's inhabitants, leaving the shrine in such a state didn't seem.... right, in a way. It was clean, but it was bare, and it didn't suit the place.

He leaves a simple offering of fresh fruit, his good luck charm from the wishing pond, and sticks of incense burning on the alter before browsing some of the books. He'll be there for a little bit before he's on his way.]

Sewing room
[For once, he's project-less, though he does seem to be intent on starting something new. He's eyeing the cashmere pensively, terribly tempted by the existence of such comfortable fabric to make something... well, indulgent. Exactly what though is the question he needed to consider, though.

It wasn't cold enough here for a sweater, but maybe a blanket....? Hm....]

Infirmary
[And anyone who goes to the infirmary in the late afternoon will find..... Ayumu, napping in one of the beds apparently. The heck is he doing?]

[And he isn't going to talk about the motive, but that should come as no surprise considering how secretive he is.]

My secret would be bad if it got out, but compare to the stakes... it's I wouldn't say it's no major issue, just - I kind of have a plan for that event already.

[He stated blandly, before he shook his head at the mention of a key]

I'm afraid I hadn't seen a key.

It's never too late to learn something new! [Elliot is beaming right about now.] But I'm glad you're picking it up so quickly!

[It's not that she's stealing bandages; that implies something nefarious, and frankly Rosalind isn't being all that sneaky. But given who her roommates are, can you really blame her for wanting a few medical supplies on hand?

She raises an eyebrow as she tucks those bandages in her pockets, though.]

That's a dangerous place to nap.

[She pitches her voice a bit louder than normal. Wake up??]

Indeed. If nothing else, it's good to take an inventory. It'll make solving the next case easier, or so one can hope.

[A beat. She adds:]

Pick something light.

[Well, at least someone seems already back to being more like himself after the whole thing with the motive, but Jansen has brought a bottle of alcohol with him to this and is sipping at it. Probably because he's expecting at least a couple of people to react badly to him blurting out his own secret like that and this way he won't care so much.]

Well, obviously my secret doesn't matter anymore. And I haven't found a key either.

[And..... disappointingly enough, Ayumu doesn't wake immediately. He does turn his head slightly in his sleep, pressing his cheek into the pillow with a grimace.

Exactly how deep of a sleeper was he?]

Yeah sure, especially since I want to make sure I didn't miss any.

[There's not a ton of it, the dusty remnants of some previously burnt incense isn't exactly an easy thing to clean up well.]

[Seriously? Rosalind frowns, then glances around. On the one hand: it's likely that nobody will be murdered until later in the week. On the other: he's just begging to be killed this way.

With a sigh, she nudges him none too gently on the shoulder.]

[Art Room]

[So after the meeting Jansen heads to the art room. Not because he's in a mood to paint, but because it will have what he needs for what he's planning.

Someone coming in may catch him making very crudely painted images of the Sage and an asshole with huge eyebrows. On the second one, the eyebrows are definitely very prominent, but otherwise it's pretty poorly done but he's no artist.]

[Training Ground]

[So now that he's got some lovely targets, he's set up something to try again with that crossbow he grabbed on Sunday. He's not a great shot, but he's at least getting better at hitting the target. If someone happens by here they'll see some bolts and holes all over the place on his poorly done paintings.]

[Elliot digs in his pocket and produces a square of green fabric. Did he finally cut up one of his robes into handkerchiefs? Yes. Yes he did.

Not that it's useful for its original purpose now, but hey. It'll do its job in dusting up this mess, that's for sure.]

That seems cathartic.

[Must be kind of relaxing, yes? At least it seems you have decent aim, Jansen!]

[Elliot's taken to doodling in his spare time every now and again, so he's just wandering in when he catches a glimpse of what Jansen's up to.

He stands behind him for a moment, briefly studying, before he can't help but just laugh.]

What are these?

You can say that again.

[Elliot rubs at the back of his head, sighing tiredly.]

Haven't seen a key. Or... anything interesting at all, really.

Ehehe. Guess so!

Maybe it's something to think about doing after I graduate from the Music Academy, huh?

[He smiles, but there's something a bit hollow about it. It's nice to talk like he'll ever see Erebonia again, but he has his doubts.]

I know, right? If this shit had gone up a couplea weeks ago, it'd be one thing... If anybody's seriously willin' ta kill over somethin' this dumb, I'm gonna be real disappointed.

Rest assured it's much less anything to do with you or any appendage of yours, Nishitani, and much more to do with the fact it's been five weeks.

[And dang, that's a long time when you're used to a certain standard. Do you know how long you have to wait for an opportunity to have sex when you're an immortal being outside of time? You don't have to wait at all, this is the worst.]

But self-control is a skill, one I've had three decades to pick up. I used to live in a religious hellscape; you quickly learned how to keep your thoughts to yourself.

[Well, for that and a thousand other reasons, but.]

One can hope if a murder does occur this week, it's entirely separate from this motivation.

[She's rather given up hoping a murder won't happen, frankly.]

Ain't ya gonna ask everybody ta spill their secrets, Kizakura-kun? That'd mess with the whole motive pretty good, eh?

[ He shrugs. Who has secrets, hmm?? ]

Don't think anythin's gonna open that door this week. Anybody found anythin' good in the Armory? Ya know Sage-chan made some of those, eh? Treat 'em nice!

Ain't got any big secrets left. Y'all already know I died fer Majima. And that I killed a girl for 'im way back then. Even killin' fer Uncle B ain't somethin' I gotta hide.

[A beat. She ticks each one off on her fingers:]

Theft, murder, rape, deliberate cruelty, general unfortunate life choices . . . interpersonal secrets might work in a blackmail scenario, but it seems a bit stupid here. And given that we've seen so many people murder here . . . the bar is fairly low for shocking things people don't want revealed.
