week 6
Week 6
Sunday - Thursday
Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.
There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.
Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

[ nostalgic for her oni-killing days.......remember that time you stabbed a dude in the lung, hanyuu, great memories ]

[ This sounds like his kind of story. ]

I would not say it was "cool" precisely, but...I did use them, yes. I suppose in very simple terms, you could say that I used to be a variety of bounty hunter.
no subject
[ That sounds awesome. ]
Ya gotta tell me more than just that, Hanyuu-han! What'd ya hunt?

[ YOU CAN BACK OUT NOW, NISHITANI ]

[ Being injured is boring, this can't be half as bad. ]

[ pausing for a moment ]
The name on my profile, Hai-Ryuun--you have seen it, yes? Although it turned into 'Hanyuu' later in my life, it is not my personal name, but rather a classification. My clan were called the Ryuun, and all those with the designation 'Hai-Ryuun' were these 'hunters.'
It is...a bit hard to explain, but in essence, my clan migrated from another world to the world of humans, in particular to a village called Onigafuchi. Ryuun were later called 'oni' by the villagers, and folklore started springing up about us when we arrived.
[ as evidence by the huge-ass horns Hanyuu is constantly sporting. the more u know. ]
When my clan made their migration, however, some of them became...sick, in a way. Incurably. They most often went berserk and attacked both the local villagers and the rest of us who were fine. I was the first Ryuun to be born in the human world, so I had a natural immunity to this 'sickness'--therefore, I was an obvious pick for the job of keeping these 'sick Ryuun' from doing anymore damage.
In short, I was tasked with finding them and putting them down before they could kill the local humans, particularly the residents of Onigafuchi. This is where I learned how to fight with a sword.

Damn, that's pretty fucked up! Ya killed yer own clan cause they were gettin' sick? I never woulda guessed ya used ta be such a badass, Hanyuu-han!

[ THIS IS NOT PRAISE SHE WANTS TO BE GETTING ]

[ TOO LATE, THAT'S RAD. ]
no subject
W-Well, anyway...
[ let's. move on. ]
My family's signature weaponry was swords, so that is the martial art I took up.
no subject
No shit, huh? That's pretty fuckin' rad. What kinda sword's yer best one? I like fightin' with a tantou myself.
no subject
Katana, mainly, though our swords had a special form they could take during combat--very similar to the Seven-Branched Swords that have come out of the pond. They're very heavy, though, so we took special training to learn how to wield them one-handed.
no subject
Can ya fight like a samurai or what? How long ago was it that ya did yer monster huntin'?
no subject
[ a little laugh ]
Aaah, it was a very, very long time ago...at least a thousand.
no subject
[ He whistles, low. ]
Damn. Almost forgot ya were a god, Hanyuu-han. Ya don't look a day over 300!
[ That's a joke. ]

[ sighs ]
They aren't real, in any case. I took a look at them, but they're merely well-made replicas. Although that does not matter much anymore now that this room has unveiled itself.
no subject
[ It's not... worth celebrating, Nishitani... ]
Though considerin' Sage-chan mighta made some of these, ya think they could be enchanted or some shit? They might not work against 'im, wouldn't surprise me.
no subject
That's possible. But if they are, I cannot tell.
It would surprise me if he did not use some form of protection for himself.
no subject
[ Which is frustrating, when one considers how easy the Teishu is to read... ]
