week 6
Week 6
Sunday - Thursday
Another week of misfortune has passed by and while the end result is that there won't be any issues to anyone's existence being altered for the worst, it doesn't mean anyone's celebrating. If anything, the stressful machinations of the recent trial would require some of you to have someone champion some sort of recuperation amongst you in an attempt to relieve the strain. Whether or not its entirely successful in doing so is up to each individual. After all, there are some of you who are naturally able to endure more than others.
There's not even much time for that before the dawn of the next week is upon the castle. As it comes, everything seems quiet, which is understandable, considering that five lives were lost in the previous week.
Of course, the next best thing to focus on would be what's been newly revealed within the castle. It'll help most of you get your mind off of the current situation to an extent—distractions have a way of making that possible. Presuming, by chance, you do find yourself taking a peek at the sakura tree, you'll notice that the buds have started to finally open up. Is it time for spring at last? If so, you might find yourself wishing that the season would suddenly find itself on hold.

You can contact the sage with your pendants here, and the teishu here.)

[But hey, magic, he can talk about that -]
It's called an orbal staff. It channels orbal energy - magic energy - into these spherical projectile things and fires them three at a time.
'Course, it'd be useless even if I got it back, here, if my ARCUS is anything to go by.

Don't think it's 'cause of the pond water or whatever. I think this place is just messing with things.

Will you show me? Even if it doesn't work, I'd quite like to see it.

[He digs in his pocket and produces his ARCUS unit. It's basically a fantasy flip phone. As such, he flips it open, and there are a number of colored gems set on the indentations inside. Holding it a bit in front of him, he closes his eyes to focus.]
ARCUS, activate!
[It produces a faint blue light from the center for a split second, like it was trying to do something, then fizzles out and nothing happens.]
...Yeah. See? Nothing.

I'm surprised the Sage didn't activate it. It seems rather useful for killing.

Not sure anything I can do is strong enough to heal a broken bone. [That's actual magic territory. Or Instructor Beatrix, which as far as he's concerned, might as well also be actual magic.] But it'd still be more helpful than the nothing we've got.

[It actually, oddly enough, makes her believe him a bit more. Not that she thought he was lying, but there's only so far the word magic takes her. But something that can accelerate cell growth . . . yes, she can understand that.]

My classmates have gotten some pretty nasty gashes in a couple of fights. Something that might've normally taken stitches or staples. Definitely woulda left a scar otherwise.

Truth be told, I'm still a bit surprised none of us were allowed to keep our powers. I understand the so-called interest in fairness, but . . . mm. Some of the people here are helpless without them.
[It's idle talk; Rosalind shrugs.]

[Sigh.]
I'm no "warrior" even with everything working. Put me in here like this, and honestly I'm starting to wonder how it is that I'm still breathing.
